This urban infill project is a make-over of a decrepit structure that had been used as a student rental for close to 50 years. Situated on an elevated, 3300 sf lot, nothing in the original house was salvageable and the entire house was stripped down to the studs. Our challenge with this project was to then open up the original interiors, flood them with natural light while creating a design that appealed to the broadest buyer pool possible. We solved this problem by organizing a compact floor plan that resulted in a 4 bedroom, 4 bath residence organized around a great room on the main level, a family room on the basement level and an additional 2 bedrooms with city views on the upper. By minimizing circulation space, we were able to re-purpose every square foot of floor area while creating a dramatic, light-filled staircase that tied all 3 levels of the house together into a unified living scheme. Clean lines and clean details, this is another of our attempts at a 'Not So Big House.' Marketing of the final product lasted less than 10 days and resulted in 3 full priced offers that netted the developer a tidy profit.

The first thing you notice about this property is the stunning views of the mountains, and our clients wanted to showcase this. We selected pieces that complement and highlight the scenery. Our clients were in love with their brown leather couches, so we knew we wanted to keep them from the beginning. This was the focal point for the selections in the living room, and we were able to create a cohesive, rustic, mountain-chic space. The home office was another critical part of the project as both clients work from home. We repurposed a handmade table that was made by the client’s family and used it as a double-sided desk. We painted the fireplace in a gorgeous green accent to make it pop. Finding the balance between statement pieces and statement views made this project a unique and incredibly rewarding experience. Bedroom - large rustic master medium tone wood floor bedroom idea in Minneapolis with gray walls and no fireplace

Little girl's bedroom featuring resurfaced existing antique heart pine flooring, painted vertical wainscoting topped with dainty pink wallpaper on the walls and ceiling. Repurposed original windows and historic glass from the early 1920s and custom built-in bench seats top off this wonderful space.

Inspiration for a country living room remodel in Other

Just take a look at this home crafted with 300-year-old barn boards the owners carted from states away. The home's layout was written on a cocktail napkin 30 years ago and brought to life as the owner's dying wish. The original home, built in the early 1940’s had an historical charm the home owners wanted to preserve in this full kitchen renovation. White shaker cabinets, a foolproof solution when dealing with the narrow space of a galley kitchen, were softened with an inset cove moulding and complemented with crown moulding. Reclaimed bricks were hand-picked, sliced and veneered to mimic the existing fireplace surround and exterior of the home. The patina of the hardware, cinnamon stained hardwoods, traditional champagne faucet and cast iron sink infused warmth and character in this kitchen. Layering natural materials along with aged finishes results in a classic European aesthetic perfectly suited for this home.

HISTORIC HIGH STREET Steeped in history and known well among Ipswich residents, this once dilapidated structure awaited preservation and renovation. The result is this beautifully renovated antique 1810 Colonial featuring new construction from the original timber frame. Custom design captures the character of yesterday with today's amenities. Kitchen highlights: black honed granite; bead board paneling; farmer's sink; crown molding; soft close cabinets; gas range; high-end fixtures; island; & stainless steel, energy efficient appliances. Cozy up in the living room beside the gas fireplace with the original mantel, complimented by custom built-in cabinets where the home's original paneling was repurposed. The master suite features walk-in closet; custom shower with frameless glass shower door, and white carrara marble. The second bath houses the laundry room.
