This complete home remodel was complete by taking the early 1990's home and bringing it into the new century with opening up interior walls between the kitchen, dining, and living space, remodeling the living room/fireplace kitchen, guest bathroom, creating a new master bedroom/bathroom floor plan, and creating an outdoor space for any sized party!

The original home, built in the early 1940’s had an historical charm the home owners wanted to preserve in this full kitchen renovation. White shaker cabinets, a foolproof solution when dealing with the narrow space of a galley kitchen, were softened with an inset cove moulding and complemented with crown moulding. Reclaimed bricks were hand-picked, sliced and veneered to mimic the existing fireplace surround and exterior of the home. The patina of the hardware, cinnamon stained hardwoods, traditional champagne faucet and cast iron sink infused warmth and character in this kitchen. Layering natural materials along with aged finishes results in a classic European aesthetic perfectly suited for this home.

This young family had a great 1950's ranch home in a wonderful neighborhood. There was plenty of space but they wanted to have an open plan where they could feel more together as a family and they wanted the home to be a better reflection of their personal style. Walls and a fireplace were removed / relocated in order to connect the new kitchen, living, and dining rooms together and an under utilized formal dining room was re-purposed to create a mud room transition from the garage. This basement remodel made a great opportunity for our Design-Build team to create a multi-generational home that in our industry is becoming more common. We converted a typical man cave type basement into this Grandmother’s oasis during this extensive remodel. By changing the bar into a kitchenette and re-purposing the exercise room as a bedroom, the space became an ideal living space. The finishing touches were an electric fireplace, a bathroom remodel and a new laundry room. Now Grandma can enjoy the space and entertain the entire family when she chooses.

Inspiration for an eclectic living room remodel in Omaha

A rejuvenation project of the entire first floor of approx. 1700sq. The kitchen was completely redone and redesigned with relocation of all major appliances, construction of a new functioning island and creating a more open and airy feeling in the space. A "window" was opened from the kitchen to the living space to create a connection and practical work area between the kitchen and the new home bar lounge that was constructed in the living space. New dramatic color scheme was used to create a "grandness" felling when you walk in through the front door and accent wall to be designated as the TV wall. The stairs were completely redesigned from wood banisters and carpeted steps to a minimalistic iron design combining the mid-century idea with a bit of a modern Scandinavian look. The old family room was repurposed to be the new official dinning area with a grand buffet cabinet line, dramatic light fixture and a new minimalistic look for the fireplace with 3d white tiles.

Our clients were in love with their brown leather couches, so we knew we wanted to keep them from the beginning. This was the focal point for the selections in the living room, and we were able to create a cohesive, rustic, mountain-chic space. The home office was another critical part of the project as both clients work from home. We repurposed a handmade table that was made by the client’s family and used it as a double-sided desk. We painted the fireplace in a gorgeous green accent to make it pop. Finding the balance between statement pieces and statement views made this project a unique and incredibly rewarding experience. --- Project designed by Miami interior designer Margarita Bravo. Fresh aquas and blues create a relaxing atmosphere in this guest room. The windows were a challenge, so a painting of a clouded sky creates a second "window" to balance the one that had to reside behind the bed. Custom window shades have a top down feature that hide the headboard from the outside. A cherry dresser was repurposed from the client's former home, while lighter furnishings were brought in for a summery vibe.

From CDK Architects: This is a new home that replaced an existing 1949 home in Rosedale. The design concept for the new house is “Mid Century Modern Meets Modern.” This is clearly a new home, but we wanted to give reverence to the neighborhood and its roots. It was important to us to re-purpose the old home. Rather than demolishing it, we worked with our contractor to disassemble the house piece by piece, eventually donating about 80% of the home to Habitat for Humanity. The wood floors were salvaged and reused on the new fireplace wall. The home contains 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, plus a home office and a music studio, totaling 2,650 square feet. One of the home’s most striking features is its large vaulted ceiling in the Living/Dining/Kitchen area. Substantial clerestory windows provide treetop views and bring dappled light into the space from high above. There’s natural light in every room in the house. Balancing the desire for natural light and privacy was very important, as was the connection to nature. What we hoped to achieve was a fun, flexible home with beautiful light and a nice balance of public and private spaces. We also wanted a home that would adapt to a growing family but would still fit our needs far into the future. The end result is a home with a calming, organic feel to it.
