These homeowners were intent on having a private, inviting space for their friends and family—a central entertainment and hangout spot. With a pool at the top of the wish list, D. A. Dunlevy had to address a low part of the yard that held a great deal of water. We designed the elevation to be higher than the existing grade, and used soil from the excavation to create the needed elevation and drainage. We then installed a modern pool and hot tub, a generous surrounding patio and dining area, a lounge area, and a unique fire pit. Other custom touches included a changing area, an Ipe diving board, winding stone paths, walls that doubled as benches, and extensive plantings that tied in with the existing landscape. The end result was a modern, stunning space that everyone would want to visit — and few would want to leave.

The home remodel included enlarging the footprint of the kitchen to allow a larger island for more seating and entertaining, as well as provide more storage and a desk area. The pocket door pantry and the full height corner pantry was high on the client's priority list. From the cabinetry to the green peacock wallpaper and vibrant blue tiles in the bathrooms, the colourful touches throughout the home adds to the energy and charm. The result is a modern, relaxed, eclectic aesthetic with practical and efficient design features to serve the needs of this family.
Cabinets 4U, Inc.This little Chicago bungalow was ready for a new look! With the removal of walls, the space has a brighter and more open feel. Next on the list: a new Contemporary kitchen.
Storage was a huge issue, as well as prep space. So along with a new island, a free-standing storage area was created. This “tower” not only houses the refrigerator, but also includes custom pantry units.
Keeping it light and open, the perimeter laminate cabinetry is custom made in Abet Laminati 411SEI. The island and tower are also constructed in this color, then wrapped in custom Walnut panels. This gives us a warm focal point, and breaks up the monochromatic tones of the kitchen area.
The result is a clean, sophisticated kitchen that compliments beautifully the rest of the newly remodeled living space!
