Updating a modern classic These clients adore their home’s location, nestled within a 2-1/2 acre site largely wooded and abutting a creek and nature preserve. They contacted us with the intent of repairing some exterior and interior issues that were causing deterioration, and needed some assistance with the design and selection of new exterior materials which were in need of replacement. Our new proposed exterior includes new natural wood siding, a stone base, and corrugated metal. New entry doors and new cable rails completed this exterior renovation. Additionally, we assisted these clients resurrect an existing pool cabana structure and detached 2-car garage which had fallen into disrepair. The garage / cabana building was renovated in the same aesthetic as the main house.

A rustic & careworn gazebo is resurrected as an outdoor cooking, dining & living space. At 1,000' above the waters of the San Juan Islands, the views are amazing but the winds are almost constant. Sliding wood panels in the windward direction solve that problem while offering views of Canada's Gulf Islands through the diamond-shaped windows. Rustic knee braces stabilize the structure. The painting on the left is one from my series Seeds. It's full of life and promises of beautiful plants to come. The painting on the right is called on the Wings of resurrection and is about new life, happy future, life starting anew.

With a Blue Pearl Granite fish clenched in her jaws, a black Limestone mama black bear with Tiger eye eye and crushed tiger eye muzzle exchanges wary looks with an equally alert bull Elk made from sandstone and sporting travertine antlers, who guards his mate as she takes a drink from the pond and a break from her fawn. The fawn, made from Granite with crushed Marble spots, ear, and Black Travertine eye and nose, naps nearby. The Black bear’s hungry cub climbs boulders to see what the hold-up is. Mountains of Colorado Granite stone with crushed white Agate and white Marble snow tower over the Blue Sodalite lake. Green Granite pine trees sit off to the sides. The stream the bear is standing in and the pond the elk are drinking from/standing in are both different Granites resurrected from a stone fabricator’s dumpster. Little Quartz chips makeup the stream splash/froth. The mosaic background is Travertine/stone pebble mixture.

The kitchen of an exquisitely detailed, Arts and Crafts style home is resurrected from its 1970’s remodel and transformed to better compliment the home and serve its family of four. Carrera marble counters, open butler pantry shelving, steel french doors, and checkerboard stone flooring contribute to the new kitchen’s crisp traditional elegance. The existing two bedrooms were re-designed to make room for a second full bath, in addition to larger closets and storage. To complete this home’s resurrection, subtle colors and patterns were integrated into the contemporary design scheme throughout, and each bedroom was painted blue-gray.
