This large travertine shower showcases a mixture of natural stone tiles as well as a sloping & curved wall that separates the shower from the bathroom. The tile is mostly from Rush River Studios (from The Tile Shop) and includes a range of sizes from the broken cobblestone pieces on the floor to the larger 4” and 8” tiles on the walls. The shower has all the amenities from a three-shelf recessed niche to a curved bench that matches the opposite wall. The adjoining bathroom floor is a 5-piece “Versailles” pattern that uses travertine up to 18”. The 8” tiles on the bottom are in an offset pattern separated from the 4” tiles above that are set diagonally. The large mosaic band has some 1” glass tiles mixed in. These tiles are used for the top of the curved wall and he lp to tie the entire design together. The large niche is centered under the showerheads and is framed with large tile trims to make it another focal point and give lots of storage. Of course, under it all is the Kerdi waterproofing system. It was a complex design to bring together, but it was a blast to be a part of it!

Here's one of our most recent projects that was completed in 2011. This client had just finished a major remodel of their house in 2008 and were about to enjoy Christmas in their new home. At the time, Seattle was buried under several inches of snow (a rarity for us) and the entire region was paralyzed for a few days waiting for the thaw. Our client decided to take advantage of this opportunity and was in his driveway sledding when a neighbor rushed down the drive yelling that his house was on fire. Unfortunately, the house was already engulfed in flames. Equally unfortunate was the snowstorm and the delay it caused the fire department getting to the site. By the time they arrived, the house and contents were a total loss of more than $2.2 million. Here's one of our most recent projects that was completed in 2011. By the time they arrived, the house and contents were a total loss of more than $2.2 million. Our role in the reconstruction of this home was two-fold. The first year of our involvement was spent working with a team of forensic contractors gutting the house, cleansing it of all particulate matter, and then helping our client negotiate his insurance settlement. Once we got over these hurdles, the design work and reconstruction started. Maintaining the existing shell, we reworked the interior room arrangement to create classic great room house with a contemporary twist. Both levels of the home were opened up to take advantage of the waterfront views and flood the interiors with natural light. On the lower level, rearrangement of the walls resulted in a tripling of the size of the family room while creating an additional sitting/game room. The upper level was arranged with living spaces bookended by the Master Bedroom at one end the kitchen at the other. The open Great Room and wrap around deck create a relaxed and sophisticated living and entertainment space that is accentuated by a high level of trim and tile detail on the interior and by custom metal railings and light fixtures on the exterior.

A sophisticated look was accomplished in this master bathroom by painting cabinets espresso, walls Sherwin Williams Rushing River, adding nickel hardware, and ceramic 16 x 16 tile.

Color is the name of the game in the combined dining and living area. The dining table is from Crate & Barrel, the dining chairs are by Michael Weiss for Vanguard, and the jute rug is by Ralph Lauren Home. The rush-seated walnut armchairs at rear are antique Italian, and the decorative plates are part of the owners' collection.

These homeowners were looking to give their kitchen a refresh. They didn’t want to change the layout of the kitchen and the cabinet boxes were in great shape, so cabinet refacing was the perfect solution for them. For the kitchen cabinets, they went with a Carson door in maple and a floral white color. For the back of the island, they decided to go with a coffee bean color. We then installed a new Port Rush quartz countertop and a glass subway tile backsplash. The finishing touches for this kitchen remodel was adding crown molding and under cabinet LED lighting. A fresh new kitchen space just like our homeowner was looking for.
