The homeowner wanted a hill country style outdoor living space larger than their existing covered area. The main structure is now 280 sq ft with a 9-1/2 feet long kitchen complete with a grill, fridge & utensil drawers. The secondary structure is 144 sq ft with a gas fire pit lined with crushed glass. The table on the left in the main structure was a piece of granite the homeowner had and wanted it made into a table, so we made a wrought iron frame for it. There are more sentimental touches! The swing by the fire pit is a newly made replica of a swing the husband had made in wood shop in high school over 50 years ago. The flooring is stamped concrete in a wood bridge plank pattern. The owner of this rural estate property outside of Collingwood wanted a place for his family to relax by their swimming pool and get out of the sun. Peter Owen came up with this solution - an open pool cabana, An architecturally iconic post and beam structure that features a fireplace hearth, large screen TV, ceiling fan, and custom lighting. Expertly built by L. Patten and Sons.

The rustic cedar pavilion was customized to integrate with the fireplace, which is the crowning feature of this outdoor kitchen! Standing seam metal roofing will provide low maintenance. Downspouts were incorporated into the pillars to minimize distracting plumbing. The fireplace utilizes materials used elsewhere on the project. It was faced with wall block to match the seating walls & pillars. The chimney was wrapped in the same block used in the tiered wall & pillar caps, and topped with a tiered cap.
