I like antiques because they all come with their stories. You just have to be creative and imagine their past. I picked up the lamp and the base, old magazine stand from local Goodwill. They look like they belong together. Also got an interesting selection of American Heritage magazine from 1958-1960. Era before computer. Home design - contemporary home design idea in Chicago

This powder room was given a major renovation, it could not be enlarged due to structural limitations. New flooring was changed to marble mosaic tiles. A new zebra wood vanity replaced the existing pedestal sink. In addition it adds much needed storage, and an elegant feel throughout the room. A marble counter top, hand made free form glass vessel sink and wall mounted faucet was added. custom mirror up to the ceiling as to provide height. the vanity was changed to a ceiling flush crystal light. Beaded cream coloured wallpaper was added, and in addition the ceiling was painted in an espresso colour with a soft white crown molding. Finishing this neutral, elegant look are the pop of the red accent colours.

For Ryan's bedroom we took our usual approach to decorating kids rooms which is to develop a scheme that will grow with a child into adolescence. We are confident that Ryan will have no problem transitioning his bedroom into a cool teen hangout when he decides to trade stuffed animals for video games and sports equipment. We paired classic black furniture with grey walls and some key pieces like an industrial spring table lamp, polyhedron light fixture and metal side table to create a boy's bedroom with character. Work in progress photo of green backyard at an Art Residency. We are working on designing a meditative space for Artists who stays at the house to work on their art and practice yoga with low to medium vegetable & flower garden management.

In this project the home owner was a furniture importer, so she had an amazing array of decorative elements to add to the design. After spending years traveling through Indonesia and India on buying trips, she wanted a taste of the tropics in her own back yard. We worked together to incorporate her beautiful objects into an undeniably tropical-feeling space. By carefully selecting plants and their placement, we were able to achieve the lush green feel of Bali or Hawaii in the Southern California climate without using a lot of water. After installation, this oasis is alive with birds and dragonflies. Lush green plantings create microclimates around the house that help cool the property on hot days. Integrating edible trees provides the homeowner with pomegranates, several types of guavas, lemons, limes, and bananas. Today, the homeowner rents out her home and garden for photo shoots and weddings.
