This update involved keeping the existing floorplan while using new materials to bring the space up to date. Design objectives -Modernize the space -Use eye-catching tile -Vanity with more storage -Brighter finish on plumbing fixtures Design challenges: -Get more storage/functionality out of the same vanity space -Tile selection – finding the right combination for the large the space -Material selection – getting that wow-factor effect without being able to move walls or plumbing. This refresh was all about choosing materials with impact. -Bringing in more light in a space somewhat defined by an existing vaulted ceiling. Design solutions: -Removed the old built-in tub look and replaced it with a sleek freestanding tub -Continued the same tile from the shower walls behind the freestanding tub for a beautiful look on the back wall when you walk into the space -Created a vanity with undermount sinks, all at one level to gain more countertop space -Added floating shelves by the vanity – this added more options for decor and easy access to everyday items -Large-format tile = less visible grout

Duo contrasting cabinets perfectly designed and laid out for this log cabin kitchen remodel. Choosing natural wood cabinets for the island with contrasting stark white cabinets for the perimeter of the kitchen is stunning! First, client came to showroom looking to make their kitchen more function. Being a log cabin and prior remodels made this a bit tricky from the previous owners. Next, we began working around support beams with the client. However, a solution from owner was derived to make the space more functional by bringing the wall out further. This allotted more space for the wall cabinets and made the space more appealing. Cabinet selection and designing was next in process. Island selection is natural hickory cabinets with a liquid toffee glaze. Which added richness to the island bringing warmth into the kitchen. Tying in the woods from the ceiling and various walls. Additionally, the painted alder cabinets with a glaze along the perimeter brighten up the cozy kitchen. Finally, adding beautiful desert beach granite countertops tops off the project. This kitchen will be enjoyable for years to come.

At our San Salvador project, we did a complete kitchen remodel, redesigned the fireplace in the living room and installed all new porcelain wood-looking tile throughout. Before the kitchen was outdated, very dark and closed in with a soffit lid and old wood cabinetry. The fireplace wall was original to the home and needed to be redesigned to match the new modern style. We continued the porcelain tile from an earlier phase to go into the newly remodeled areas. We completely removed the lid above the kitchen, creating a much more open and inviting space. Then we opened up the pantry wall that previously closed in the kitchen, allowing a new view and creating a modern bar area. The young family wanted to brighten up the space with modern selections, finishes and accessories. Our clients selected white textured laminate cabinetry for the kitchen with marble-looking quartz countertops and waterfall edges for the island with mid-century modern barstools. For the backsplash, our clients decided to do something more personalized by adding white marble porcelain tile, installed in a herringbone pattern. In the living room, for the new fireplace design we moved the TV above the firebox for better viewing and brought it all the way up to the ceiling. We added a neutral stone-looking porcelain tile and floating shelves on each side to complete the modern style of the home. Our clients did a great job furnishing and decorating their house, it almost felt like it was staged which we always appreciate and love.

This 1940’s Colonial style home in Boston’s Jamaica Plain had strong bones and rich character but lacked the space, modern conveniences, and storage that our clients desired. While they wished to retain the look of the exterior, as well as some of the home’s unique original features,, the kitchen and dining room needed to be reimagined in design, layout, and functionality. Key considerations were the compact size of the home and a smaller lot that didn’t give our client the flexibility of an addition. Without adding on to the existing floor plan, we needed to find a way to gain vital extra space in the kitchen, which, with walls enclosing it on all sides, was dark and disconnected from the rest of the house. Our design team coordinated with our client to reconfigure the space by opening up the wall between the dining room and the kitchen to add a few extra inches – just enough to create an open flow between the two rooms. With the removal of that wall, the formerly dark kitchen was flooded with the natural light coming from the existing dining room windows, making the entire space feel brighter and more cohesive. The original kitchen dated back to the mid-20th century and lacked, among other conveniences, a dishwasher, enough storage, or even countertop space for food prep. In redesigning the kitchen, we visually expanded the space by incorporating white upper cabinetry, open shelving, and white subway tiles extending from the backsplash to the ceiling. A new, larger window featuring a deep stone sill brought in even more light, and the appliances and apron sink were selected to retain the traditional look of the home while delivering modern functionality. Considering how our client would use this space, we focused on creating a purposeful workspace and storage, ensuring that there was ample countertop space and cabinetry between the sink and range. A multi-purpose cabinet and countertop which serves as a microwave station and food service area were added to the backside of the dining room wall, packing a lot of utility into a small space. Prior to this renovation, our client had painted the dining room in Mount Saint Anne by Benjamin Moore, a tranquil blue-gray that suited the room well and allowed the original built-in corner cabinetry to stand out, highlighting the home’s charm. With the newly opened floor plan extending into the kitchen, we selected a deep custom color for the base cabinets, Yorktowne Green by Benjamin Moore, to complement the dining room and pull all of the elements together in a cohesive space. This transformation was remarkable, both functionally and visually. The kitchen is now a bright and inviting space that flows seamlessly into the rest of the house. The homeowners are thrilled with the results, and the small changes we incorporated that made a big difference in the overall feel and functionality of the space.

Installing a stunning light fixture can change the feel of a space. The fabulous fixture from Renovation Hardware replaced the builder's selection and added drama to the setting. The walls are painted with Sherwin Williams "Retreat" to provide a peaceful backdrop in this elegant dining room.

The perimeter cabinets feature the Nightfall finish, complemented by kitchen island cabinets in the Cotton finish. The kitchen also includes Silestone Pietra quartz countertops, Whirlpool appliances, Kohler faucet and Kichler light fixtures. The tile backsplash features Happy Floors 3" Hexagon Alaska Glossy tile with Laticrete Raven grout. Said Nancy, “The homeowners wanted something unique. The dark blue cabinetry and the hexagon backsplash are fun! The space is not large so removing a traditional table and adding an island opened the space, provided additional prep area and still allows for some seating. Storage improved by adding a small pantry with roll out shelves and incorporating a lazy susan. We met a couple of times in our showroom to select door style and finishes, but finalized the project through e-mail and phone calls.” “Very nice job and met our expectations. Designed by Catherine Neitzey of Reico Kitchen & Bath in Fredericksburg, VA in collaboration with Heritage Contracting Services, this transitional style inspired two-finish kitchen design features Merillat Classic Tolani Maple Kona and Merillat Masterpiece Montresano with Aged Picket Fence finish cabinets. The bathroom also features Tolani Maple Kona cabinetry. The kitchen includes an Imagery Glass Mosaic 3x6 in Rain material Glass GM07412 tile backsplash. “We walked into Reico without an appointment, because 2 friends highly recommended them. We were warmly greeted by Cat, even without an appointment,” said the client. “Cat listened, and then pulled out samples as she guided us patiently through the process. She brought to our attention a cabinet larger than the actual area in our plan. We were able to adjust before it was ordered. Her guidance, suggestions and attention to our likes and dislikes proved to be invaluable.” “This project was remodeling a basement to add to a multi-generation home with an eye on creating a space to enjoy,” said Cat. “I hit it off with the client right away, meeting prior to selecting a contractor which changed the dynamic of our roles for the duration of the project.” The client added, “One of the best services Reico provided was computer generated visuals. We love the look and the flow!” “We changed the wall cabinet color as the space started to come together with all of the supporting selections made,” said Cat. “The Aged Picket Fence painted finish with its artisan random distressing contrasts the contemporary base cabinets and glass tile in the best way. Inspiration for a modern bathroom remodel in Dallas

At our San Bernardo project in Scottsdale, we remodeled the kitchen, laundry room, and main living area. We also replaced the flooring throughout to create a cohesive feel. This kitchen was previously half the size, with the laundry room taking up most of the space. We pushed this area into a different & took advantage of the new larger space with an island that has lots of storage and seating for three. On the back wall, we used a composite farmhouse sink, and incorporated a pull-out trash. We located the refrigerator on the far-right wall & flanked it with two large pantry cabinets. These have rollouts for easy access to everything. Next, we have the bar area. This is a fun space that continues the subway herringbone backsplash we have throughout the rest of the kitchen. Our client requested we include a beverage fridge in this space for easy access when making drinks. We also added glass & lighting to these upper cabinets to showcase decorative glassware and bottles. To connect the kitchen to the living & dining room, we created a cutout in the wall across from the island. This gave us the opportunity to add more storage and additional seating. For contrast throughout the space, we incorporated touches of black. The hardware on the white shaker cabinets are black, as well as the plumbing fixtures and island pendants. Our client was also looking for a pop of color, so we selected an accent island. This blue stain compliments the veining in the quartz countertops which have a slight blue tint. For added interest, we used gold hardware on the island. To tie it all together, our client selected a large format stone look tile that goes throughout the entire home.

One of our Louisville clients showed her sister what we had done for her Great Room with our Personal Shopper Service, and her sister said, “Do they travel?” The answer is “Absolutely!” When we arrived in the Windy City, we were absolutely blown away by the view and were excited to put the finishing touches on this High Rise condo. We worked with the homeowner’s existing furniture pieces (sofa, club chairs, and media console with towers) and added personality with accent furniture, accessories, lighting, and artwork. We opened up the seating area and made their beautiful rug more visible by selecting a sleek glass-topped coffee table. Accessories in a range of metal tones complement the existing furniture and rug. Oil canisters in pewter tones look fantastic on the coffee table. We added this concrete base lamp with square shade in between the club chairs. The white marble-topped two-tiered side table breaks up the dark leather of the club chairs. The countertops in the small galley kitchen are a grey blue, so we pulled that color into living space by selecting these great nesting tables with a blue soapstone top. We topped it with a metal lamp and organic white vases to soften the edges. The hallway prints and this beautiful blue watercolor pull the colors from the living space into the Entry. The homeowner was not fond of the existing media cabinet, but not anymore! We accessorized with varying metal tones and lots of texture that bring interest to an otherwise generic furniture piece.  With limited space, we made the most of views by placing our favorite marble writing desk in the bay window. We plan to add upholstered arm chairs on either end that can serve as dining chairs or extra seating for the living area. The important thing is to keep that view as open as possible. A big thanks to our Chicago client for having us up there to make her condo more of a home. Maybe we should change our motto to “Have paint deck & measuring tape, Will Travel!” Enjoy!

This young girl's bedroom was based around the peach duvet she selected. We added some whimsy with the sloth bed sheets and fun patterns. Custom draperies and brass details helped to complete the room and a fun pop of navy gave the space some character.

These Grayson Chairs are one of my favorites! When you walk into this space you first see the back of these chairs, which is why I picked the beautiful Grayson's. I selected a black finish for the wood frame to coordinate with the black and white snow leopard pillows, as well as the black and white rug that is being added to the space this week. To keep the animal print vibe going, I selected a teal crock print velvet! Pictures hardly do it justice. This fabric is incredibly soft and beautiful. I put some suttle snake-like-print lumbar pillows in each, both in coral, to introduce a new color. Soon more coral accents will be brought into the space. Teal leather ottomans were added as well to get some sleekness in the space. This ottomans are so practical and each to move around for additional seating.

Client requested additional landscaping, a firepit, seating area, and pergola for existing porch to extend the living space as they had family over often and needed a updated outdoor space. A 2D drawing was created showing the layout of the seating area, pergola, and planting beds. The legend on the plan shows the plant selection so the client can confirm they are satisfied with all the plants and locations. The pergola was fashioned from rough cut cedar and held together with Simpson Strong Tie decorative powder coated hardware and stained to give it a warmer feel that fit the space. The seating area and fire pit was designed to reach out into the yard towards the forested area per the clients request and create a space for family gatherings to enjoy even on colder nights. Landscape lighting was added around the seating area and cafe lights were strung on the pergola to allow for the space to be enjoyed at night. Flowerbeds were added around the existing patio and seating area to soften the hardscape areas. The side of the house served as a deer trail through the area down to the creek behind the house so care was needed to select deer resistant plantings for the design.

Kate and CJ’s master bathroom was in need of a fresh start—a space that was outdated, with an unused bathtub and a cramped shower with no storage. The vision was to transform it into an open, stylish retreat—a space for relaxation and enjoyment of daily routines. Removing the bathtub created additional room for a beautifully designed custom shower with that offered more space for showering, enhanced storage, and a built in bench. A tiled in linear shower drain was installed adding to the modern feel of their new space. They selected Bronze Lira oversized penny rounds for their shower floor and opted to use this tile on the walls creating a gorgeous accent band around their shower. For the walls, the Concept Blanco 8x24 tile was selected by Kate and CJ, creating a sleek and seamless appearance with matching grout. A large recessed wall niche was integrated into the design, using matching Bronze Lira tiles for a cohesive look. To complete the space, Delta Stryke fixtures in Brilliance Stainless, including a shower valve and handheld shower head, were added, paired with sliding glass barn doors with brushed nickel hardware. The original vanity remained, but thoughtful enhancements elevated its style. New Possini Euro Midtown vanity lights in Satin Nickel and Chesire framed mirrors by Winston Porter in brushed nickel brought a fresh, elegant look. This master bathroom transformation achieved a perfect balance of functionality, comfort, and elegance. Their thoughtful design choices and quality materials brought the vision to life, turning the space into a beautiful retreat.
