Do you want to update your Living Room but cannot part with your Favorite Traditional Style Piece of furniture? No problem! We'll show you how to blend them together! **UPDATE** We also work with clients all over the country! Our virtual designers have experience as local and long distance design consultants. Our designers offer professional fabric and design recommendations, free estimates and have a great ability to communicate via email or phone to help conceptualize the project and see it through to the final stages. Fabric samples are mailed directly to you and we also provide easy installation guides. We like this design because it is updating a traditional home into more of a "contemporary" look. There's a fine line when trying to accomplish this. You want the updated look to not compete with the traditional architecture of the home or an existing traditional piece of furniture that you may still want to reuse. The living room was updated with the use of white drapery sheers and metal 1/2" blinds. The metal was tied into the space by the new coffee table, end table and metal framed art. The traditional end chair in the plaid fabric was an original piece. The chair needed help blending into the space. To accomplish this, the paisley pillows were added to the new sofa. In addition, the storage basket and rug adds a traditional-style flare to the room so the chair doesn't feel like the only traditional piece in the room. It's also worth mentioning that the paisley fabric in the pillows have a curvature to them which is why the wave printed draperies were used. We have been in business since November 1998 and started in the window covering business by cleaning & repairing blinds. This gave us a unique perspective from most window covering dealers. We have always considered how well products hold up and which manufacturers stand behind their products the best. We let our clients know the benefits of more expensive products and give honest feedback. We take pride in showing alternative products to fit all budgets. Our great testimonials on Angie’s List, Houzz.com and referrals have helped our company grow without the need for “conventional” advertising. Abda means ‘servant’. At Abda, we approach every customer with a servant’s attitude. This philosophy has helped our customers feel confident in their purchases and well-taken care of. Our number one focus is customer service and we believe in putting the customer’s needs first. We offer our clients an additional 2 year warranty on top of the manufacturer’s warranty and want each and every client to be completely happy with their purchase. We’ve been awarded the prestigious 2013 Angie’s List Super Service Award, an honor bestowed annually on approximately 5 percent of all the businesses rated on the nation’s leading provider of consumer reviews. We’ve grown over the years and have added more team members to our company and we’re very excited at the direction our company is going. We highlighted the architecture with carefully selected paint colors for tray ceilings, c-scrolls on the stair tread skirt boards and millwork throughout the home. Cool blues and oatmeal upholstered dining chairs enhance the softness of this cozy and traditional dining room.

The most notable design element is the exceptional use of reclaimed wood throughout almost every design component. Sourced from not only one, but two different Indiana barns, this hand hewn and rough sawn wood is used in a variety of applications including custom cabinetry with a white glaze finish, dark stained window casing, butcher block island countertop and handsome woodwork on the fireplace mantel, range hood, and ceiling. Underfoot, Oak wood flooring is salvaged from a tobacco barn, giving it its unique tone and rich shine that comes only from the unique process of drying and curing tobacco. To keep the design from being too monotonous, concrete countertops are selected to outline the perimeter cabinetry, while wire mesh cabinet frontage, aged bronze hardware, primitive light fixtures and playful bar stools liven the space and add a touch of elegance. Nestled in the heart of the Laurelhurst neighborhood of Seattle, this charming home has been completed updated. Our clients desired a design that is fresh, understated and family friendly. The original kitchen was crowded and disconnected from other parts of the home. Our focus was to open up the spaces while maintaining the home’s integratory. The kitchen is now the center of the home with a large island for gathering. We selected classic finishes with modern touches throughout each space, thus providing a fresh look. Simple and smart furnishings were selected. We layered texture, color and scale with textiles and art to offer clean, uncluttered design lines that our clients wanted.
