Home is about sharing, yet it's also an outlet, and I design it so that my clients can feel they could be anywhere when they are at Home. Those quiet corners where you can rest and reflect are essential even for a few minutes; The texture of wood, the plants, and the small touches like the rolled-up towels help set the mood. It's no accident that you forget where you are when you step into a Master-bathroom – that's the art of escape! A couple with an affinity for Asian and contemporary themes needed a new guest bathroom for visiting family and overnight guests. With extended visits from their parents and other family members in mind, the couple wanted a design that more that one person could comfortably share. The existing bathroom was dark, dated and fussy and did little to reflect the personality of its owners. The couple wanted to express their penchant for clean, Asian-inspired design in the new guest bathroom and bring renewed energy and functionality to the space. A sense of simple, light-filled luxury was created in the guest bathroom by harmonizing tranquil colors, the visuals of flowing waterfalls, and the serenity of clean, Asian-inspired lines. An innovative Shoji screen-style door opens in three widths for varying degrees of privacy. This peaceful oasis now communicates the clients’ passion for Asian themes while providing their guests with a calm, private space for relaxation and reinvigoration.

The Treehouse is the home I share with my daughter Miss Noa. It is our sanctuary and our refuge, our playhouse and our house of rest. It is carved out of the roof of a 100 year old craftsman home, so the spaces are all unique, and intimate, which I love. The colors I chose for the space are all slightly weathered as though they spent years in the sun. The vibe is bohemian, with all sorts of collected (Faith) and created (Noa) art. I have a passion for small spaces- they are just fun and playful, so to accentuate the element of play in the space we painted the ceiling with circus tent stripes in muted tones and turned my bedroom into a bedouin tent! This custom dual-fuel pizza oven, sourced from Mugnaini in California, was a centerpiece request from the homeowner, reflecting their passion for culinary arts. As the only oven of its kind shipped to North Carolina for residential use at the time, it was designed to burn both wood and gas simultaneously for authentic, restaurant-level cooking. Every detail, from the custom louvers that match surrounding cabinetry to the oversized baking tray capacity, was thoughtfully integrated to ensure the oven was not just a feature, but a functional expression of the family’s love for gathering, cooking, and sharing meals. The result is a kitchen that celebrates both craftsmanship and personal meaning.
