We gave this charming Bay Area home a refreshing update and small remodel. For the kitchen, the homeowners wanted to swap out their double oven for something smaller and more practical. To cater to such a change, we were able to design and build a brand new kitchen island! Not only did this open up previously used space but also provided much needed counter space and additional cabinets — plus it was a great place to add bold black accent hues! New lighting and a simple marble backsplash tied the entire space together. The living and dining areas also needed a little updating, so we added built-ins, colorful wallpaper and chairs, and a new statement light fixture to tie it all together. A modern interpretation A thousand confetti spreading joy and colour. The gaze is attracted, seduced by the deep nuances. This project takes inspiration from the battuto veneziano, and uses ceramic linear inserts to combine creative freedom and geometric rigour. Carnevale Veneziano is matter turned into poetry, with a style that celebrates tradition while skilfully rearticulating it. A retro collection, created for anyone who wants a floor with all the magic of a simple, yet powerful effect.

This project was a joy to work on, as we married our firm’s modern design aesthetic with the client’s more traditional and rustic taste. We gave new life to all three bathrooms in her home, making better use of the space in the powder bathroom, optimizing the layout for a brother & sister to share a hall bath, and updating the primary bathroom with a large curbless walk-in shower and luxurious clawfoot tub. Though each bathroom has its own personality, we kept the palette cohesive throughout all three.

Renovation of a classic Minneapolis bungalow included this family bathroom. An adjacent closet was converted to a walk-in glass shower and small sinks allowed room for two vanities. The mirrored wall and simple palette helps make the room feel larger. Playful accents like cow head towel hooks from CB2 and custom children's step stools add interest and function to this bathroom. The hexagon floor tile was selected to be in keeping with the original 1920's era of the home. This bathroom used to be tiny and was the only bathroom on the 2nd floor. We chose to spend the budget on making a very functional family bathroom now and add a master bathroom when the children get bigger. A neutral background is a great place to start when you're after high impact color. This tiny bedroom is cozy and joyful with its sunny yellows and strong reds. This Saugatuck home overlooking the Kalamazoo River was featured in Coastal Living's March 2015 Color Issue!

Designed to spark joy and conversation, this room is full of colors and textures. From the Kermit sofa, pink leopard print ottoman to the wild tiger-grain maple maloof rocker, there's always something to capture your attention. The kermit sofa is actually an original piece of furniture from the farm house in the 1940's. With some TLC from Prospect Division Upholstery, it was ready to take on another few decades in its original home!
