This tiny home is located on a treelined street in the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver. We helped our client create a living and dining space with a beach vibe in this small front room that comfortably accommodates their growing family of four. The starting point for the decor was the client's treasured antique chaise (positioned under the large window) and the scheme grew from there. We employed a few important space saving techniques in this room... One is building seating into a corner that doubles as storage, the other is tucking a footstool, which can double as an extra seat, under the custom wood coffee table. The TV is carefully concealed in the custom millwork above the fireplace. Finally, we personalized this space by designing a family gallery wall that combines family photos and shadow boxes of treasured keepsakes. It's time to reclaim that Man Cave! Whether you use it to watch football, show off your hunting trophies or simply for some peace and quiet, we can help you create the perfect rustic retreat.

Rustic isn’t always rough around the edges, and you don’t have to live on a farm to love farmhouse style. Here, we've transformed traditional elements to create a modern farmhouse bedroom. Our Triangle bedding honors the tradition of quilting, a hallmark of farmhouse style, while the Lincoln poster bed adds modern drama to the simply furnished space. The palette is simple and welcoming, and black and white bedroom ideas abound throughout the room: the bedding, the Kennington table lamp, and the nature-inspired photographs.

When we imagine the homes of our favorite actors, we often think of picturesque kitchens, artwork hanging on the walls, luxurious furniture, and pristine conditions 24/7. But for celebrities with children, sometimes that last one isn’t always accurate! Kids will be kids – which means there may be messy bedrooms, toys strewn across their play area, and maybe even some crayon marks or finger-paints on walls or floors.
Lucy Liu recently partnered with One Kings Lane and Paintzen to redesign her son Rockwell’s playroom in their Manhattan apartment for that reason. Previously, Lucy had decided not to focus too much on the layout or color of the space – it was simply a room to hold all of Rockwell’s toys. There wasn’t much of a design element to it and very little storage.
Lucy was ready to change that – and transform the room into something more sophisticated and tranquil for both Rockwell and for guests (especially those with kids!). And to really bring that transformation to life, one of the things that needed to change was the lack of color and texture on the walls.
When selecting the color palette, Lucy and One Kings Lane designer Nicole Fisher decided on a more neutral, contemporary style. They chose to avoid the primary colors, which are too often utilized in children’s rooms and playrooms.
Instead, they chose to have Paintzen paint the walls in a cozy gray with warm beige undertones. (Try PPG ‘Slate Pebble’ for a similar look!) It created a perfect backdrop for the decor selected for the room, which included a tepee for Rockwell, some Tribal-inspired artwork, Moroccan woven baskets, and some framed artwork.
To add texture to the space, Paintzen also installed wallpaper on two of the walls. The wallpaper pattern involved muted blues and grays to add subtle color and a slight contrast to the rest of the walls. Take a closer look at this smartly designed space, featuring a beautiful neutral color palette and lots of exciting textures!

With their unique design and appearance, Chicology Free-Stop Cordless Zebra Roller Shade is the shade of choice for those who are bold.
Zebras are dual-layered shades that enable you to easily switch between sheer and privacy. Simply pull the shade slightly for sheer, to enjoy beautiful light effects and the outside view, and for privacy, to create peace of mind in your home.
A hard cassette valance comes included, and the Free-Stop cordless mechanism is precise and smooth. Unlike other spring roller mechanisms, Free-Stop works smoothly, the way you'd expect. No need to tug, simply pull or lift the shade with the lift of a finger. Ideal homes with small children and pets; our shade meets and exceeds ANSI child safety regulations. This shade is durable and ideal for kitchen, bathroom, office, bedroom, garage, den, family room, nursery, and more.
The installation is a quick 3-step process. Capable of inside or outside mount. For all mounts, a half inch is deducted on the width for a snug fit. A minimum of 3-inches depth is required for inside mount. Note: there is about an inch gap between fabric and valance to allow for the cordless mechanism.

Simply creative, this transitional pendant supplies ample lighting and adds style to your home's decor. The rustic wrought iron has been hand-crafted into soft, flowing curves and the cylindrical etched white glass shades create a striking contrast to the deep blacksmith finish. A perfect fit in small spaces with lots of natural light. Works well in a foyer too.
