The ski wall at the unit entry is lined with barn wood to create a surface that will only be enhanced, by adding more character to the wood, if it is marred or damaged by skis. The same wood was used to clad the sliding barn door, which is visible on the right at the end of the hallway, between the living room and den. The ski storage is separated from coat storage in the small space to alleviate congestion and create different activity zones.

Embedded in a Colorado ski resort and accessible only via snowmobile during the winter season, this 1,000 square foot cabin rejects anything ostentatious and oversized, instead opting for a cozy and sustainable retreat from the elements. This zero-energy grid-independent home relies greatly on passive solar siting and thermal mass to maintain a welcoming temperature even on the coldest days. We were contacted by a local surfer/skier/snowboarder to make some of his favorite boards into centerpieces. We started with a few in the Master Bedroom and added another few in the Living Room. The beauty of our products is that they are adjustable and interchangeable so, if at any time, you need a change, it's easy to switch them with other racks and boards.
