An existing daylit but partially subterranean space. With the every evolving dynamics of Covid-19 affecting work from home and general commercial office space. Our client decided to decentralize their office space and have all employees work from home. The clients home office required a space to host employees, video conference, record podcasts, have clients visit along other amenities like a kitchenette and bathroom for day use. The space was designed to easily be converted to an ADU in the future as well.
The space being underground and surrounded by 8" thick of concrete acoustics and thermal comfort were paramount for the client to do their work affectively. We designed an acoustic system to make the space comfortable enough to host pod casts, be on video conferencing and adjust natural daylight for optimal views and lighting.
The project was quite challenging navigating budget, schedule and exterior waterproofing but the design team prevailed and created a beautiful space for the client. This clean Japanese Modern style interior connects the client with incredible views beyond the west hills of Portland and with the surrounding forested site.

This newly constructed open floor plan home with a large finished basement is ideal for this fun-loving couple. We were fortunate to be included in the very beginning stages of construction space planning to optimize room placement, layout, and spacing. From there, we worked side-by-side with homeowners and contractor in selecting all of the details from floors and doors to lighting and window treatments. These empty nesters love to entertain. Both the main level and the downstairs offer great flow. A bit of luxury was added in the master bathroom with this soaker tub and custom tile shower.

Located on a heritage-lined street in Melbourne’s Williamstown, a young family were seeking a contemporary home with ample room to grow. Benni Trajcevski of Achieve Design Group answered their call, creating the epitome of modern living concealed behind a modest façade. To achieve the long wish list including large indoor and outdoor gathering spaces to entertain family and friends, separate adult and children living and sleeping zones, and a pool suitable for year-round use, Benni has maximised every inch of the block. Seamless transitional spaces link inside with out. This flow between the indoors and outdoors is a key feature of the home, achieved through generous open floor planning and glazing. For example, large hidden sliding doors allow the pool to be closed-off for use in winter; acrylic glass panels link the pool with the sunken lounge, which includes a fire pit for year-round comfort. The inclusion of a courtyard and voids throughout create separate useable zones while maintaining the feeling of spaciousness. Orientated to the north and surrounded with floor to ceiling windows to optimise natural light, the courtyard divides the formal lounge area with the informal living area, while the first floor is divided into four separate wings for privacy and functionality. The interiors are detailed with quality materials and finishes to achieve a sleek and sophisticated aesthetic. Contrasting materials in muted tones, including tiles, steel and lightweight timbers are featured throughout. Corian and a moss green wall are unexpected features.

This 3,738 Square Foot custom home resides on a lush, wooded hillside overlooking Arbutus Lake. The clients wanted to thoughtfully combine a “lodge” and “cottage” feel to their space. The home’s style has been affectionately and effectively called “Cott-odge” A beautiful blend of neutrals compose the home’s color palette to reflect the surrounding setting’s stone, sands, woods and water. White casework and rustic knotty beams round out the careful blend of “cott-odge” style. The great room’s multi-colored ledge stone fireplace and large beams create a cozy space to gather with family, while the efficient kitchen adorned with custom cabinetry accommodates optimal work-flow. The pairing of the varied styles creates an inviting lakeside, family retreat.

Continuing with the contemporary art theme seen throughout the home, this luxe master bathroom remodel was the second phase in a full condo remodel in NW Portland. Features such as colorful wallpaper, wall-mounted washlet toilet and sink faucet, floating vanity with strip lighting underneath, marble-look quartz counters, and large-format porcelain tile all make this small space feel much larger. For a touch of flair and function, the bathroom features a fun, hot pink sink faucet, strategically placed art niche, and custom cabinetry for optimal storage.
It was also important to our client to create a home where she could have accessibility while aging. We added features like a curb-less shower, shower seat, grab bars, and ample lighting so the space will continue to meet her needs for many years to come.

We drew inspiration from traditional prairie motifs and updated them for this modern home in the mountains. Throughout the residence, there is a strong theme of horizontal lines integrated with a natural, woodsy palette and a gallery-like aesthetic on the inside.

In California's Central Coast, custom homes require interior design that evolves with occupants, especially retired families aiming to age gracefully. At Timely Designs, we craft functional, high-end modern living spaces through a collaborative process, ensuring every detail reflects a unique vision for a enduring haven.
Our journey begins by understanding clients' current desires and future comfort. For this master bathroom, retired clients wanted a space that would serve them beautifully as they aged. The "organic, embracive, earthy" palette created a tranquil atmosphere, while a meticulous space plan optimized flow and accessibility. Elements like the walk-in shower, freestanding tub, and double vanity were strategically placed for ease of movement, anticipating future mobility needs without sacrificing luxury or charm. This foresight is a hallmark of professional expertise, ensuring long-term usability.
Material selection focused on premium elements for a serene, spa-like experience. Light-toned, veined stone tile in the shower and around the tub offered luxurious calm, integrating with the home's elegance. The vanity provided ample storage, maintaining an airy feel. Every surface was chosen for aesthetics, longevity, and ease of maintenance, crucial for aging-in-place. Stone slab surround, rich accents, and elegant brass fixtures exemplified our commitment to timeless beauty and practical durability. Strategic lighting and thoughtful furnishings ensured functionality and invitation. A layered lighting scheme incorporated ambient, task, and accent lighting. Large windows maximized natural light, connecting the bathroom to the Central Coast landscape. Selections were chosen for comfort and safety, including non-slip elements and accessible features. Each selection harmonized with the overall design, balancing modern aesthetics with classic details.
This project highlights the essential role of an experienced interior designer in custom home builds, especially for long-term living. We offer a holistic perspective, anticipating future needs, and possess expertise in accessible design and material longevity. We act as a critical partner, proactively solving challenges and saving clients time, stress, and resources. Ultimately, we integrate practicality with unparalleled style, transforming a house into a dream home for every chapter of life.
At Timely Designs, we believe homes should evolve with occupants, offering comfort, beauty, and unwavering functionality. This master bathroom transformation proves how thoughtful design creates a stunning, lifelong space. We craft personalized havens where Central Coast families can thrive and create lasting memories. This natural house design sits nestled within a hillside and looks out over the natural creek that flows from behind the home, underneath the home and diagonally across the front yard. The design intent of the home was to not overpower the natural elements of the site, but to work with nature to create vistas for enjoying nature. The home was designed to look smaller than its actual size so it doesn’t seem foreign to the site and the hillside.
The home embraces an open floor plan and uses multiple design features to define the many spaces and to enable connection with nature. Design features include varying ceiling heights defining space, usage of large 13 foot high movable glass walls, usage of rich wood floors and numerous architectural elements and design features that integrate nature and the modern vocabulary.
Even though the site is large, the buildable area is small due to the natural waterway traveling underneath (underground and is not visible) the home and across the site and significantly limited the buildable area. As a solution, the architect designed the home to nestle into the hillside above the underground waterway and by raising the primary living areas, courtyard with pool, and rear yard. The rear lawn is made of natural looking synthetic material and is surrounded by indigenous Georgia vegetation. The first floor spaces were optimized and include entryway, art gallery, theater, workshop, in-law suite, garages and multiple utility spaces.
