A bright, vibrant, rustic, and minimalist interior is showcased throughout this one-of-a-kind 3D home. We opted for reds, oranges, bold patterns, natural textiles, and ample greenery throughout. The goal was to represent the energetic and rustic tones of El Salvador, since that is where the first village will be printed. We love the way the design turned out as well as how we were able to utilize the style, color palette, and materials of the El Salvadoran region!

This gorgeous curbless step-in glass shower features oversized beige tiling with fewer grout lines for easy cleaning. A built-in seat allows you to relax and spend time under the shower head or using the handheld shower fixture. A recessed surface holds shampoo and soap. A simple silver towel rail on the outside of one door provides quick access.

This family wanted a basement that truly felt like part of their home, a place where their kids could gather, play, and grow, and where everyone could spend meaningful time together. Our design team transformed the previously underused space into a warm, inviting lower level that balances style and functionality.
The finished basement now includes a dedicated gym, a full bathroom, a custom bar and dining area perfect for hosting, and a cozy living room featuring a custom-built entertainment center. Thoughtful details and an open layout help the space flow seamlessly, making it feel like a natural extension of the upstairs living areas.
With ample room for family movie nights, kids’ sleepovers, and everyday relaxation, this basement remodel created a welcoming retreat the entire family can enjoy and where new memories will be made for years to come.

Part two of the "classic" job. The time period radius steps were a major feature leading from the bluestone patio down to the lawn. This yard is now heavily planted and completely gorgous! I need a new picture. :)
Landscape Architect and Landscape Designer Values:
Any given Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer may have a different approach, but Landscape Designer and Landscape Contractor, Brett Berry of Berry Outdoor Living creates living areas that feel connected to the home. As a Landscape Designer and Landscape Contractor working with a Landscape Architect, we try to create the space so it feels relaxed. It should feel like it's been in place with the home for years and not an "add-on".
As a Landscape Contractor that merges old and new construction into the landscape design, the goal is to build a space people want to spend time, whether at the bar of the outdoor kitchen, fire pit, patio, or covered porch. When a space becomes a large part of the homeowners' daily life, a Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer, or Landscape Contractor, knows a project has been completed with excellence. I work closely with a Landscape Architect through the design process to ensure the space has the correct "feel".
A Landscape Architect and Landscape Designer must design the space to flow from the inside of the home out. The patio and outdoor living space feels like an extension of the home, or another "room" of the home and feels wrapped with fresh, low-maintenance landscaping.
In Kansas City patio, and landscaping design, there is a clear trend toward a cleaner, more defined look influenced by a more modern era viewpoint that values a non-cluttered look and feel. So, as a Landscape Contractor, in our circle of clients, we've seen a definite shift toward cleaner, artisan-crafted backyards and fewer "boxy", shrub-heavy yards. A Landscape Architect with a keen sense designs this effect.

Very special client. This viniette is a nice surprise you encounter as you round a path. Japanese Iris belies the watery pond at the feet of the barefoot girl; subtle splashing sound to relax you. Incredibly strong large granite in the background segways to the Japanese-influenced back yard.

Thse clients came to me for a kitchen refresh. Keeping the existing floor plan but updating as much as possible. After explaining my thoughts, they chose to go with a much larger project. The wall to the garage wash pushed bach 12" to allow for the island to happen. This almost couldn't happen as there is a support post in the garage we had to keep. I designed the last pantry area as on 10" deep, allowing us to conceal that behind the cabinets. Then, we opend up the wall to the dining room to make the rooms one large space. The wall to the family room was also openend up, leaving the half wall to allow for the kitchen eating area. They wanted to incorporate a bar area, without it feeling like a "bar" The fabulous tall custom unit houses their wine collection and then half of the dining room buffet area holds glassware and other bar items. I helped the clients with all of the design choices. We all wanted to keep the space classic, war, functional and with mixed materials. I chose to use the same countertop material for the backsplash, to keep the space feeling as large as possible.

Stained concrete patio with a built-in Beef Eater grill and cabinet doors. Natural flagstone veneer with a custom-quarried limestone countertop set in a beautiful landscape.

You can't see the size of this water feature with the life-sized bear sculpture catching a fish! See in a very natural 17 acre estate, we had to work hard to blend the husband's affinity with nature and the wife's love of little spots to sit and visit with friends or sip coffee in the morning. What emerged was a functional, small flagstone patio (see the seat in the back); some colorful pots placed around the garden. The space tended to be more functional, with large patios and walks closer to the home and more natural with the landscaping becoming more lush the further away from the home. This is the spot where the two meet.

The detailed plans for this bathroom can be purchased here: https://www.changeyourbathroom.com/shop/warm-walnut-bathroom-plans/
Warm walnut vanity with white quartz counter top, sinks and matte black fixtures, stacked stone accent wall with mirrored back recessed shelf, digital shower controls, porcelain floor and wall tiles and marble shower floor.

What I love about this is everything! The texture, color and placement of the boulder in the background. The smoother, round stones in the dry creek. The lush, creeping lime groundcover around the boulder; the stalks of hostas shooting up like rockets; the feathery fern to the left; the delicate burgundy texture plant in the foreground and the dainty veronica spindling over the stone. All of these things are contrasts and are built in a very small, intimate area. Serious gardeners appreciate these things.

Designing a Health-Focused Home Living Space
Designing a health-focused home living space is more than just arranging furniture and choosing colors; it's about creating an environment that promotes physical well-being, mental clarity, and overall wellness. As we spend more time at home, especially in the wake of recent global shifts towards remote work and lifestyle changes, the importance of our living spaces in supporting our health has never been greater. Here are some key considerations when designing a health-oriented home.
Natural Light and Air Quality
Natural light plays a crucial role in our health, affecting everything from our sleep patterns to our mood. When designing your home, prioritize spaces that allow for ample sunlight. Large windows, skylights, and strategically placed mirrors can help maximize natural light. In rooms where natural light is limited, consider using full-spectrum lighting that mimics daylight to support your circadian rhythms.
Air quality is another critical factor in a health-focused home. Indoor air can be more polluted than outdoor air due to various factors like off-gassing from furniture, household cleaners, and poor ventilation. Incorporating plants that are known to purify air, such as spider plants, snake plants, and peace lilies, can help improve indoor air quality. Additionally, ensure your home is well-ventilated by using exhaust fans in kitchens and bathrooms, and consider investing in air purifiers, especially if you live in an area with high pollution levels.
Ergonomic Furniture and Movement Spaces
The furniture you choose and how you arrange it can significantly impact your physical health. Ergonomic furniture, especially in workspaces, can help prevent strain and injury. Adjustable desks, supportive chairs, and monitor stands can contribute to better posture and reduced risk of musculoskeletal issues.
Incorporating spaces that encourage movement is also important. For example, a small home gym or a yoga corner can serve as a dedicated area for physical activity. Even in smaller spaces, you can create movement opportunities by ensuring there’s enough room to stretch or do simple exercises. Open floor plans or multipurpose spaces that can be easily reconfigured for different activities can help integrate movement into daily life.
Mindful and Minimalist Design
A clutter-free environment is conducive to mental clarity and relaxation. Mindful and minimalist design principles focus on creating spaces that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing without being overwhelming. Start by decluttering and organizing your belongings, keeping only what you need and what brings you joy.
Choose furniture and decor that are simple, natural, and calming. Materials like wood, stone, and natural fibers not only add a touch of nature to your home but also tend to have fewer chemicals than synthetic materials. Neutral color palettes with accents of soothing colors like blues and greens can help create a tranquil atmosphere.
Sleep and Restful Areas
A significant part of health-focused design is creating spaces that promote restful sleep. Your bedroom should be a sanctuary that encourages relaxation. Invest in a good-quality mattress and pillows that support your body. Blackout curtains, soundproofing, and maintaining a cool room temperature can also contribute to better sleep quality.
In addition to the bedroom, consider creating other restful areas in your home where you can unwind, meditate, or practice mindfulness. A cozy reading nook, a meditation space, or even a comfortable chair by a window can serve as your personal retreat.
Incorporating Nature and Green Spaces
Finally, integrating elements of nature into your living space can have a profound impact on your health. Biophilic design, which connects indoor environments with nature, has been shown to reduce stress and increase feelings of well-being. This can be as simple as adding more houseplants, incorporating natural materials, or even installing a small indoor water feature.
If you have outdoor space, create a garden or a patio where you can relax and enjoy fresh air. Even a small balcony can be transformed into a green oasis with the right plants and seating.
By thoughtfully designing your living space with health in mind, you create an environment that not only looks beautiful but also supports your physical and mental well-being.

Soaking tub is a top bathroom feature as we spend more time home. White, simple tub is especially popular and work well in any bathroom style. A separate tub and shower is still the most popular bath layout as it offers you more flexibility, do more in less space.
Large-format tiles lend an air of luxury, particularly when paired with natural stone and stone-look materials. Fewer grout lines also mean less to clean, making slabs an especially hot choice for shower surrounds.
