Faced with extensive water damage to their home, the Patel’s turned to Cantoni designer Andrea Petor to infuse new life into their family’s beloved weekend retreat in Montgomery, Texas. Balancing the client’s minimalist wants with their love of hosting, Andrea created a cohesive design to accommodate their frequent guests and large extended family. Beginning with the kitchen remodel, Andrea worked with the Patel’s to identify the best layout for the space, understanding it would be used regularly for entertaining. To maximize storage space, Andrea designed custom floor to ceiling cabinetry finished in high gloss white lacquer. She selected Miele optic white appliances to enhance the sleek design. Andrea had a custom dining table built into the island to provide ample seating and ensure the entire family could enjoy meals together. The kitchen’s monochromatic color palette was carried throughout the interiors allowing the home’s beautiful waterfront views to take center stage. Adding richness and texture to each room, Andrea selected sculptural, modern furnishings to complete the space and bring the Patel’s vision to life.

This shower was designed for safety - yet luxury. The decorative grab bars can be used for towels or for someone to steady themselves. The recessed niche was lowered for Mom to be able to reach from a seated position.

A patinated metal bell with a braided rope pull adds a distinctive detail beside a white-framed screen door. Overlapping wood shingles establish a steady horizontal rhythm, while the bell and rope introduce a vertical counterpoint. Dappled sunlight reveals the grain of the siding and casts small, changing shadows across its silvery surface. The muted wood, white trim, and aged metal suggest the familiar character of a coastal cottage with maritime references. This tactile threshold feels welcoming and nostalgic, connecting the experience of arrival to the garden and the home’s relaxed atmosphere.

The sleek 5 x 10 perimeter-overflow spa is elegantly clad with polished Eramosa stone. While not in use, a steady stream of water recirculates from the spa back into the pool creating the look of an elevated block of glistening water.

To provide the clients with protection from the sun and seasonal elements, we implemented a lean-to roof system for shade and shelter. The ceiling fans allow for a much-welcomed steady breeze during the warmer months, and the fixed skylights to allow for the natural sunlight to flood back into the house during the day.

A custom Trex deck with a unique purpose. We constructed this Trex deck to be used as an observatory base. It was built over a swampy marsh area & a steady structure was the number one concern. We reinforced the posts to ensure no movement & used Trex products to give the homeowners a low maintenance and long-lasting deck. The observation area has a long ramp & a separate staircase for dual access. The homeowners are now able to enjoy many evenings of star gazing.
