The homeowners wanted a simple, clean, modern bathroom. Sounds straightforward enough. But with a tight budget, a funky layout and a requirement not to move any plumbing, it was more of a puzzle than expected. Good thing we like puzzles! We added a wall to separate the bathroom from the master, installed a ‘tub with a view,’ and put in a free-standing vanity and glass shower to provide a sense of openness. The before pictures don’t begin to showcase the craziness that existed at the start, but we’re thrilled with the finish!

Our simple solution employs a straightforward mix of flowing spaces borrowed from California great room houses with design elements found in more traditional residential design. The house is entered through a generous entry hall flanked by a formal Dining Room on one side and a Home Office/Den on the other. The far end of this Entry Hall deposits into a large Great Room and open kitchen that is this home's gathering and entertainment hub. A small alcove at the end of the kitchen allows for everyday meals while the island functions as this entire space's focal point. Completing the entertainment concept of this level is a covered porch accessed through a sliding door in the Family Room. The upper level is accessed via a stair at one end of the plan and is organized around a wide hallway that terminates in a tech space for kids. 3 generous children's bedrooms and an ample Master Suite with a view toward the Olympic Mountains complete this level. Finish selections throughout the house were purposely kept clean, light and simple. The exterior form of the house, while simple, allows for a variety of roof schemes that appeal to different price points in the marketplace. We also designed a bonus room option that can be accessed via the stair and resides over the garage.

For an industrial look, this condo kitchen used a concrete finish to add more character to the space. The flooring was stained a dark gray, and the structural concrete walls are exposed to accent the floors. The walls were skim coated and sealed with a natural coating. The kitchen countertops are stunning yet straightforward featuring Statuary Classique Quartz from MSI Surfaces which is elegant, durable and requires no maintenance. This marble-look quartz is a soothing white background, and delicate veins make for great countertops with waterfalls. The Backsplash wall tile is a Bergamo Herringbone Mosaic by MSI Surfaces which is an elegant natural beautiful white marble tile that features soft gray tones in the veins. This bathroom remodel was simple, straightforward, and beautiful. This hall bath is soothing and minimalistic. The fixtures are sleek and modern, and the tile is simple and soothing.

This kitchen in Bamberg came together in Dallas White granite, a stone that reads clean and bright without going stark. The background carries soft grays with subtle movement through it, enough character to keep the eye interested but calm enough to work with just about any cabinet color a builder picks for a spec house like this one. That's part of why it gets used so often in kitchens meant to show well and live well at the same time. Granite's still one of the best choices you can make for a kitchen countertop, and Dallas White in particular holds up the way granite's supposed to. It's dense, it resists heat, and you can set a hot pan on it without worrying about scorching. Scratches aren't a concern with normal use, and the surface takes a polish that lasts for years. We seal it going in and that's about all the maintenance it ever needs. Getting a granite slab like this into a kitchen right takes more than just cutting to size. We template the space first to make sure the seams land where they won't draw attention, usually tucked near the sink or stove, and any countertop longer than about 8 to 9 feet is going to need one. Matching the pattern across a seam so it reads as one continuous piece is where the work actually happens. The edge here is eased, a clean, simple line that lets the stone itself do the talking instead of competing with it. Day to day, this is the kind of countertop that just works. Wipe it down, don't worry about it, and it'll look the same ten years from now as it does today. That durability is exactly what a spec house kitchen needs, something that shows well to a buyer walking through and keeps performing long after they've moved in. We do a lot of work through the Midlands, and Bamberg jobs like this one are a good example of what granite still does better than almost anything else on the market. It's a straightforward material that never stops earning its keep in a kitchen, and this one turned out exactly the way it should.

This Buckley home received a full roof replacement using CertainTeed Landmark shingles in Georgetown Gray, giving the 3,300 sq. ft. property a clean, refreshed look. While the project was straightforward, we improved the home’s ventilation by installing 17 new attic vents to support long-term roof performance.
