camilleriparismode projects and design team were approached to rethink a previously unused double height room in a wonderful villa. the lower part of the room was planned as a sitting and dining area, the sub level above as a tv den and games room. as the occupants enjoy their time together as a family, as well as their shared love of books, a floor-to-ceiling library was an ideal way of using and linking the large volume. the large library covers one wall of the room spilling into the den area above. it is given a sense of movement by the differing sizes of the verticals and shelves, broken up by randomly placed closed cupboards. the floating marble fireplace at the base of the library unit helps achieve a feeling of lightness despite it being a complex structure, while offering a cosy atmosphere to the family area below. the split-level den is reached via a solid oak staircase, below which is a custom made wine room. the staircase is concealed from the dining area by a high wall, painted in a bold colour on which a collection of paintings is displayed. photos by: brian grech

This project in Downingtown focused on refreshing a rear patio while preserving a natural, organic look that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Building a Strong, Natural Foundation We began by carefully grading and leveling the patio area to create a stable base for the installation. To reinforce the perimeter and maintain long-term durability, small boulders were tightly placed along the edges. This approach not only enhances the natural aesthetic but also helps prevent the loss of base material over time. With the foundation prepared, we installed irregular flagstone, cutting and fitting each piece with precision. The result is a clean, tightly joined surface that resembles a natural stone puzzle, structured yet organic in appearance. Bringing It All Together To improve flow throughout the yard, stepping stone pathways were added on both sides of the patio. These pathways create smooth, intuitive transitions to other areas of the rear garden while maintaining the same natural design language. To complete the project, we constructed a flagstone walkway connecting the driveway to the rear garden. This addition enhances accessibility and ties the entire outdoor space together, creating a cohesive, functional environment that feels both intentional and effortlessly natural. This Redmond kitchen renovation focused on elevating the space while preserving the original layout and structural framework. The design approach emphasizes visual clarity, balanced proportions, and long-term functionality, creating a modern yet timeless environment. Custom cabinetry was integrated along the perimeter, with carefully aligned door proportions and clean lines that establish a cohesive architectural presence. The light-toned countertops and continuous backsplash enhance the sense of openness while maintaining a refined, unified material palette. Layered lighting, including concealed LED strips, provides both functional illumination and subtle ambient depth, highlighting surfaces without overwhelming the space. Alloy was truly fortunate to have the opportunity to restore and renovate this 1850’s log cabin at Afton Mountain. No home looks more at home than this cabin in the foothills. The cabin suffered years of decay and an unsympathetic interior renovation so our first step was to work with a local log cabin specialist to correctly restore the structure. We then rebuilt much of the interior to have everything a modern home needs while staying true to the log cabin aesthetic. On all of our projects we carefully research materials and finishes but this one really took that to the next level. We enjoyed the challenge and the chance to show off the impressive craftsmanship of our carpenters. As you approach on the winding path, the log cabin feels like a part of the landscape. And now, when you come inside, you can keep that connected feeling – in comfort.

These bathroom remodels had a great base and core elements that we wanted to honor. Central to the project were the cherished handmade cabinetry and vintage wood mirrors, which served as anchors for the bathroom's serene and cozy core. By removing and painting over the eccentric wallpaper stripes and embracing a more tranquil green hue, accented by warm wood tones, the bathroom seamlessly welcomed elements of the outdoors within. This subtle yet impactful change brought a sense of harmony and connection to nature, elevating the space to a tranquil retreat. Throughout the renovation, the integrity of the structure and its unique natural elements remained paramount. The slanted ceiling, with its distinctive charm, and the windows flooding the room with natural light, were preserved to maintain the character and authenticity of the space. This formal garden in Highland Park, Texas features an expansive pool and side garden. The front garden features a circular driveway approach to the front porch. The Through side decorative garden gate, you can get a glimpse of the classical fountain and custom shade structure with cast stone columns and hanging baskets filled with flowers. Other design details on the project include a luxury pool with fountain jets, screen trees, Pennsylvania bluestone paving and steps with Mexican beach pebbles. We helped Miki and David successfully execute a bathroom and kitchen remodel for their Co-op in New York City. The primary objective was to enhance the sense of space, functionality, and style while keeping the project on track and on budget. To kickstart the project, Anna, the highly skilled project planner, conducted a thorough walkthrough with Miki and David. During the meeting, she captured their vision, outlined a realistic timeline, and carefully considered their budgetary restrictions. Anna made sure to grasp their aspirations of modernizing the kitchen and bathroom, aiming to elevate both the aesthetics and practicality while incorporating a bespoke design tailored to their desires. The design challenge was to modernize the outdated kitchen and bathroom while maintaining a budget-friendly approach. The clients opted for a Scandinavian style, featuring neutral olive green colors, stone, and natural wood materials. The designers explored various layouts to maximize functionality and accommodate the clients' preferences, providing Miki and David with multiple options. Eventually, the family made their design choices and felt assured as they entered the construction phase. During the building phase, the construction team completed a gut renovation of the kitchen and bathroom, replacing ceilings, walls, floors, and all fixtures. The result was a stunning custom kitchen designed in the Scandinavian style featuring matte grey-green cabinetry, natural wood open shelving, a built-in pantry and appliances, and Vivid White Quartz countertops. The combination of sage base cabinets with grey undertones and modern, natural wood structures created a neutral and earthy impression, while the smooth white wall cabinets and countertops added a sleek and airy touch to the space. The bathroom renovation encompassed a full remodel, with all fixtures being replaced. A custom-ordered vanity in a matching grey-green shade was installed, along with the Maiolica White Polished Ceramic Wall Tile and Kohler and Delta fixtures. Within a few short weeks, Miki and David's new kitchen and bathroom were transformed to align perfectly with their style and vision, while significantly enhancing functionality.

2B is at once a tranquil art gallery and a comfortable residence; white walls as a simple canvas that bears the quiet sophistication of hovering sculptures and framed compositions of brushstrokes and purposeful blots. Exposed structural concrete and sliding panels of timber begin to define the ephemeral lightness and contain the sideboard that complements the living space, just as the bay windows frame the dynamic mountainous scenes beyond. Located in the picturesque landscape of Limassol, Cyprus, residence showcases our experience in blending modern architecture with the rugged beauty of the mountainous terrain. Our approach to this project was guided by the principle of enhancing the natural landscape, rather than imposing on it. The uniqueness of Stone lies in its partial integration into the mountain itself. This design choice not only pays respect to the local geography but also serves practical purposes, offering improved thermal insulation and structural stability. Thoughtful planning of the residence reflects our understanding of the client’s lifestyle and needs. For example, the main entrance, garage, and a dedicated workspace suited for remote work - an increasingly common aspect of modern life - are located on the ground floor. The first floor emphasizes privacy and comfort. The master bedroom, kids‘ bedrooms provide personal space for retreat while a shared terrace connects these spaces, offering stunning mountain views. The basement is where architectural ingenuity truly shines. Envisioned as a space for relaxation and entertaining, this floor seamlessly transitions between indoor and outdoor living. One side of the basement is partially integrated into the mountainside, creating a cozy nook for relaxation, while the other side opens onto a spacious terrace with an open pool and outdoor theater. The phone rings early in the morning, and it’s a long-time client who treats our team of skilled craftsmen like family, continually lauding our work. It’s these types of clients we all have and all love and, of course, will drop anything to help. As I navigate my usual morning commute, I’m greeted by a forlorn sigh and the description of the freak-fire which destroyed their beloved outdoor living area (along with the home’s family room, kitchen, and master bedroom). Getting past the initial shock, we had to act quickly to ensure their safety. Quite the start to the morning. Challenges with this project run deeper than just the build: security of the entire affected area, good and sensitive communication, and navigating a pandemic lockdown can cause even the strongest-willed person to throw their hands up and call it quits. When the fire broke out, it took out the entire backyard and portions of the home, making the structure unlivable. We needed to mitigate the fire damage and make sure the house was secure against break-ins, but also, no damage existed that could cause harm to the neighbors. It’s these moments where relationships matter. The client needed a trusted and established partner to begin the rebuilding process. Professional knowledge is only one part of the puzzle. It’s here an empathetic ear, and extra solace goes far to remind the client all can be rebuilt. Lastly, none of us saw the difficulties a pandemic would bring. At a time when a person was about to use every square foot of their home to shelter-in-place, our client would be in the middle of a rebuild with no use of their beautiful outdoor living area to get through the day. Luckily, we were able to work with the city of Clyde Hill and continue through an emergency services waiver. What was done? The outdoor living area included a complete rebuild of the gazebo, including a large sitting area and fire pit. Stone patios were replaced, and additional stone was chosen to create a secondary, uncovered living area with a fire pit to enjoy during the summer months. The build is a testament to superb craftsmanship and design. However, we believe excellence also includes the holistic approach to listen deeply, empathize and understand a client’s history, external pressures of the world, and build community and relationship.

The decision to paint the walls predominantly white instantly promoted brightness and airiness into the room, setting the stage for a modern makeover. Knocking down the wall separating the kitchen from the family room added a touch of spaciousness and promoted seamless interaction between the two areas. Introducing a sleek floating island became the centerpiece, offering both practicality and a contemporary aesthetic. Upgrading to all new appliances ensured efficiency without sacrificing style. The end result? A chic, welcoming kitchen that's as perfect for cooking up a storm as it is for gathering with loved ones. In this extensive bathroom remodel, a once cluttered and cramped primary bathroom has been meticulously transformed into a spacious and bright oasis. The skylight was maximized to its full potential by surrounding it with pristine white walls, creating an airy and luminous atmosphere. This project began with a young couple’s bold vision to transform a dated, traditional home into a modern, functional space that truly reflected their lifestyle. The property, a steel-and-glass structure, had a teal green exterior and outdated interior finishes more suited to classical architecture than the couple’s contemporary taste. Our approach was to create a seamless flow between spaces, opening up the kitchen to the rest of the main floor to take full advantage of the stunning views and enhance their love for entertaining. Custom millwork was introduced throughout to provide both aesthetic interest and practical storage solutions. The design also focused on creating a sanctuary in the primary suite, with a larger walk-in closet, a redesigned ensuite, and easy access to a rooftop deck overlooking the city. On the lower level, we reimagined the entrance to include a spacious mudroom, laundry room, and entertainment area, perfect for their active lifestyle and connection to the outdoors. This renovation was not just about updating finishes—it was about creating a home that would grow with them, providing the perfect balance of beauty, function, and comfort for years to come.

We approached this new build as a seamless, full-service collaboration between architecture and interiors. Every decision—structural, spatial, and aesthetic—was shaped with intention, not to mention collaboration, since our contractor was also our client. Our contractor said, “make the rooflines simple and direct the water away.” His wife said, “I like color.” Check, and check. The bold exterior lines of the home both contrast with and recede into the woods around it, and the interiors are layered with cheerful hues, custom details, and playful patterns. Each room carries its own moment of cheer, while the overall palette ties together into a cohesive, uplifting whole, not unlike its namesake rainbow.

Our approach to the dining room wall was a key decision for the entire project. The wall was load bearing and the homeowners considered only removing half of it. In the end, keeping the overall open concept design was important to the homeowners, therefore we installed a load bearing beam in the ceiling. The beam was finished with drywall to be cohesive so it looked like it was a part of the original design. Now that the kitchen and dining room were open, paint colors were used to designate the spaces and create visual boundaries. This made each area feel like it’s its own space without using any structures. The original L-shaped kitchen was cut short because of bay windows that overlooked the backyard patio. These windows were lost in the space and not functional; they were replaced with double French doors leading onto the patio. A brick layer was brought in to patch up the window swap and now it looks like the French doors always existed. New crown molding was installed throughout and painted to match the kitchen cabinets. This window/door replacement allowed for a large pantry cabinet to be installed next to the refrigerator which was not in the old cabinet configuration. The replaced perimeter cabinets host custom storage solutions, like a mixer stand, spice organization, recycling center and functional corner cabinet with pull out shelving. The perimeter kitchen cabinets are painted with a glaze and the island is a cherry stain with glaze to amplify the raised panel door style. We tripled the size of the kitchen island to expand countertop space. It seats five people and hosts charging stations for the family’s busy lifestyle. It was important that the cooktop in the island had a built in downdraft system because the homeowners did not want a ventilation hood in the center of the kitchen because it would obscure the open concept design. The countertops are quartz and feature an under mount granite composite kitchen sink with a low divide center. The kitchen faucet, which features hands free and touch technology, and an instant hot water dispenser were added for convenience because of the homeowners’ busy lifestyle. The backsplash is a favorite, with a teal and red glass mosaic basket weave design. It stands out and holds its own among the expansive kitchen cabinets. All recessed, under cabinet and decorative lights were installed on dimmer switches to allow the homeowners to adjust the lighting in each space of the project. All exterior and interior door hardware, hinges and knobs were replaced in oil rubbed bronze to match the dark stain throughout the space. The entire first floor remodel project uses 12x24 ceramic tile laid in a herringbone pattern. Since tile is typically cold, the flooring was also heated from below. This will also help with the homeowners’ original heating issues. When accessorizing the kitchen, we used functional, everyday items the homeowners use like cutting boards, canisters for dry goods and place settings on the island. Ultimately, this project transformed their small, outdated kitchen into an expansive and functional workspace.
