A wall pantry spans the entire width of this kitchen. These full-height cabinets keep everything neat by concealing a built-in coffee station and easy-to-access cupboard for everyday dishes. Deep drawers are essential to keep serving dishes and heavy pots and pans handy without the struggle associated with typical base cabinets.

Location: Denver, CO, USA THE CHALLENGE: Elevate a modern residence that struggled with temperature both aesthetically and physically – the home was cold to the touch, and cold to the eye. THE SOLUTION: Natural wood finishes were added through flooring and window and door details that give the architecture a warmer aesthetic. The client struggled with creating an inviting open room without it being cluttered. By diving the room into functional sections, the reading nook, entertainment, and small office area, we created a multi-functional space filled with green life and nautical vibes.

This deep kitchen drawer was overflowing with glassware, bakeware, and mismatched kitchen tools. With everything stacked on top of each other, finding the right item was a daily struggle. This drawer was in desperate need of structure and order!

This small front yard was a water guzzling and struggling lawn. The large shade tree with pervasive roots made growing anything tricky but with careful planning we managed to create a pleasing and interesting front yard.

When we arrived at this kitchen in Solebury it was dated and closed in. A center peninsula divided the space and a wall at the end separated a tiny dining room. We completely redesigned the layout by removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room and adding a window to gain some natural light. The homeowners loved the rich cranberry color but struggled to integrate it without overwhelming the space with red. The window treatments and floor to ceiling pantry gave us the perfect opportunity to accent the color palette throughout the room. Some open shelving and a chair rail along the top of the backsplash allow for decoration and keep the counters clutter free. This quickly became one of our favorite kitchen renovations simply because of the dramatic changes we were able to make

Burns and Parks Painting teamed up with IDS to donate painting services to the 2014 Dwell with Dignity Project. Dwell with Dignity is a non-profit group of Interior Designers and volunteers dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty. They provide and install home interiors for families that include furnishings and art, bedding and kitchen supplies, and food in the pantry. This gorgeous buffet was our favorite "new" piece for this project. It is an antique that was brought up to Huntsville from New Orleans and is now featured in this lovely dining room with a perfectly selected mirror above. design|theory helped this client incorporate some pieces they already had and loved into a design that was functional, beautiful, and accentuated the features of their new home. They had struggled with how to use pieces which has worked in their previous house in their new one.

Our clients often host family gatherings and dinner parties, but had long struggled with seating arrangements. Although their dining room table could be expanded, the doorway into the adjacent room was too narrow. Now with the expanded opening between rooms, they can extend the table fully, and place chairs around it to comfortably host large groups.
