This was an assignment from Design 2. The intent was to create a bird blind on a nature reserve for bird watchers to study the birds in their natural habitat without disturbing them. It was a study of light, permeability, and the natural environment. This in particular is a study model of tectonic and stereotomic relationships that acted as a precedent to my bird blind.

Spaces are neatly arranged in this apartment and within the sleeping quarter, the queen sized bed, study area, working table and wardrobe are strategically placed to provide convenience to the user.

Builder Boy is proud to have completed this unique courtroom-style classroom at Irvine University College of Law in Cerritos, California. We applied a maple panel veneer to the main and side walls, custom-manufactured a four-person juror box with a stadium step and created a judicial panel table with a closed front desk to replicate an actual courtroom for students to study in. An environment surrounded by young students in kindergarten was the major theme for this project. It was an inclusive project where UGL worked hand-in-hand with students in the purchasing of the materials and implementation of some of the elements like numbered stepping stones and painted car tyres and pebbles. The result was a vibrant children’s study area.

The space can be easily adapted and cleaned and included; low-pile, stain resistant carpet; scrubbable wall paint; low maintenance, aqua plank vinyl flooring and Scandinavian furnishing, encompassing classic plastic elements.
