Situated on the west slope of Mt. Baker Ridge, this remodel takes a contemporary view on traditional elements to maximize space, lightness and spectacular views of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. We were approached by Vertical Construction Group to help a client bring their 1906 craftsman into the 21st century. The original home had many redeeming qualities that were unfortunately compromised by an early 2000’s renovation. This left the new homeowners with awkward and unusable spaces. After studying numerous space plans and roofline modifications, we were able to create quality interior and exterior spaces that reflected our client’s needs and design sensibilities. The resulting master suite, living space, roof deck(s) and re-invented kitchen are great examples of a successful collaboration between homeowner and design and build teams.

This West University Master Bathroom remodel was quite the challenge. Our design team rework the walls in the space along with a structural engineer to create a more even flow. In the begging you had to walk through the study off master to get to the wet room. We recreated the space to have a unique modern look. The custom vanity is made from Tree Frog Veneers with countertops featuring a waterfall edge. We suspended overlapping circular mirrors with a tiled modular frame. The tile is from our beloved Porcelanosa right here in Houston. The large wall tiles completely cover the walls from floor to ceiling . The freestanding shower/bathtub combination features a curbless shower floor along with a linear drain. We cut the wood tile down into smaller strips to give it a teak mat affect. The wet room has a wall-mount toilet with washlet. The bathroom also has other favorable features, we turned the small study off the space into a wine / coffee bar with a pull out refrigerator drawer.

This beautiful Spanish Colonial on the lake in Pablo Creek Reserve is nearly 4000 SF and consists of four bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms and a 'flex room' that can be used as a study or fifth bedroom. Architectural authentic, this home includes an open floor plan ideal for entertaining. An extensive lanai with summer kitchen brings the outdoors in. Ceiling treatments include coffered ceilings in the great room and dining room and barrel vaults in the kitchen and master bath. Thermador appliances, Kohler and Waterworks plumbing fixtures and wood beams bring functionality and character to the home.

Marble tiles laid in a herringbone pattern on the bathroom floors set the tone for a traditional space, while the gothic arched cabinet doors, ornate moldings, and sparkly light fixtures add some glamour. The Master Bedroom lacks adequate closet space, so the wardrobe cabinets from Showplace Cabinetry (in Light Griege painted finish) create more storage in the small space. The custom vanity cabinet creates a classy nook for applying makeup.

The home owner’s of this 90’s home came to us looking for an updated kitchen design and furniture for the family room, living room, dining room and study. What they got was an overall tweaking of the entire first floor. Small changes to the architecture and trim details made a large impact on the overall feel of the individual spaces in an open floorplan space. This case study features a bathroom remodel in Oak Brook, Illinois. Here we showcase the details of the renovation, to give clients an in depth look at our design and remodel process.

This spacious 2-story home with welcoming front porch includes a 3-car Garage with a mudroom entry complete with built-in lockers. Upon entering the home, the Foyer is flanked by the Living Room to the right and, to the left, a formal Dining Room with tray ceiling and craftsman style wainscoting and chair rail. The dramatic 2-story Foyer opens to Great Room with cozy gas fireplace featuring floor to ceiling stone surround. The Great Room opens to the Breakfast Area and Kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances, attractive cabinetry, and granite countertops with tile backsplash. Sliding glass doors off of the Kitchen and Breakfast Area provide access to the backyard patio. Also on the 1st floor is a convenient Study with coffered ceiling. The 2nd floor boasts all 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a laundry room, and a large Rec Room. The Owner's Suite with elegant tray ceiling and expansive closet includes a private bathroom with tile shower and whirlpool tub.

The double kitchen islands provide a surplus of storage and improve the overall functionality of the space.

Our design studio fully renovated this beautiful 1980s home. We divided the large living room into dining and living areas with a shared, updated fireplace. The original formal dining room became a bright and fun family room. The kitchen got sophisticated new cabinets, colors, and an amazing quartz backsplash. In the bathroom, we added wooden cabinets and replaced the bulky tub-shower combo with a gorgeous freestanding tub and sleek black-tiled shower area. We also upgraded the den with comfortable minimalist furniture and a study table for the kids. ---Project designed by Montecito interior designer Margarita Bravo. Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space.
