The client’s vision was to create a cohesive look through out their entire home, from the front entry through to the living space.
The exisiting home had great potential but didn’t showcase any of the owners personality. The decor was mismatched, there was no specific interior style or colour palette.
To breath life into the exisiting spaces an earthy colour palette was introduced. To showcase the families love of travel and mid century style a gallery wall was created in the entry and mid century furniture introduced which set the tone for the entire home.
To create a practical yet stylish space attention special attention was paid to type of furniture and decor chosen and the way in which the space flowed.
The end result is a stylish and contemporary family home that reflects the interior style of the owners and what they love most.

Location: Situated on Bunurong country near the town of Sorrento, the site was uniquely positioned between the back beach and the footy oval. The broad wedge-shaped site featured a steep vegetated dune climbing 6 meters to the rear and remnant coastal Moonah trees at the front, providing a distinctive natural context.
Design Brief: The objective was to create an enduring 4-bedroom holiday house that harmonized with its coastal environment. The design was intended to be both stylish and robust, offering high amenity and serviceability. This house was envisioned as a long-term investment, serving the dual purpose of accommodating a growing family and functioning as a part-time rental property.
Architectural Features:
Contextual Integration: The architectural response meticulously respected and enhanced the site's natural features, seamlessly integrating the vegetated dune and preserving the Moonah trees within the landscape strategy.
Materiality and Aesthetics: The material palette was selected for its durability and ability to withstand the harsh coastal conditions while maintaining a refined and stylish appearance. This included the use of resilient, high-quality materials that age gracefully over time.
Spatial Versatility: The spatial configuration was designed to adapt to the evolving needs of a growing family and the demands of a rental property. Flexible spaces were created to provide a balance between communal living areas and private retreats.
Indoor-Outdoor Connectivity: Emphasizing seamless indoor-outdoor connections, the design featured expansive glazing, outdoor terraces, and integrated landscaping to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces.
High Amenity and Comfort: The house boasted a laminate black-butt chef's kitchen, stone and tile surfaces, and state-of-the-art climate control systems, including integrated heating and cooling, to ensure year-round comfort and ease of maintenance.
The architectural vision aimed to create a timeless residence that would serve as a cherished family retreat and a sought-after rental property, responding elegantly to its coastal context and the demands of modern living.

Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom.
The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space.
In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space.

This grand three-story Victorian home has been beautifully modernized while retaining its historic charm. The windows are unique with detailed frame work. A sophisticated dark-toned front door with classic columns. The color palette is a blend of muted earth tones-grays, creams, and natural stone which helps the intricate "Eclectic" details feel refreshing and stylish rather than dated.

One of the older kids bedroom is covered in a soft muted slate blue. The room features a custom built-in bookcase and storage with clean lines, painted in a crisp white. The open shelving provides a stylish way to display books and decorative objects. The floral wallpaper from Galbraith and Paul in a soft grey and white palette wraps the room, adding an artisan touch that feels both classic and rejuvenating.

The design masterfully balances minimalistic furniture with bold color choices to create a sophisticated and whimsical atmosphere. The walls are painted in a warm and soft blush pink, providing a bright backdrop that makes the striking teal and mustard accents pop. A sleek grey leather sectional anchors the room, paired with a stylish teal velvet armchair that adds a luxurious and vibrant touch. The funky area rug from Nordic Knots ties all the items together, creating an attracted space.
