We're often asked to work with a theme for designing nurseries so the key in making them last is to keep the subject matter somewhat flexible by not being to child-like so you can build on the theme and add to it as your child grows older.

When the homeowners found this painting on their travels, they knew right where it would go. And while the scale and drama of the piece could certainly carry it's own in the room, Chanie Laree Designs envisioned something more. Specialty moulding panels were designed and meticulously crafted, the interiors of which were then painted in an accent color. Fine Italian fabrics were crafted into pillows and after several years of very active use are still supple and beautiful and look as good as they did the day they were fabricated. Chanie then scoured every resource to find the perfect crystal wall sconces. Several thousand wall sconces later, these lovely ones from Fine Arts Lamp were selected. Their craftsmanship and hand applied finish cannot be beat. This octopus shower was made with safety in mind. Set within channel and safety bars, this piece allows our clients to safely enter and exit the shower enclosure at the pace that works for them. Octopus are a popular subject matter for our studio and it's always a joy rendering them into our glass.

Bedrooms for teens can be very challenging but when you're painting a mural, you want to kick a subject matter that your son or daughter won't grow out of quickly. For this client, there was not doubt in this young man's mind about what we were going to paint. This was not a hobby or interest he would grow out of anytime soon and such a fun project! The mural on the adjacent wall incorporated a surfboard hut with a 3-D thatch roof and surfboard.

The home is filled with antique marble , ivory , or bronze figures,. 19th century enamels and porcelain plaques with rococo French frames amid art nouveau glass and stained glass lamps, wall clocks, grandfather clocks , antique rugs.....a myriad of beautiful objects. LFI placed the collection with attention to the material and subject matter , as well as proportion and spacial aesthetic to bring an understanding and elegance to the space , as well as , the collection. LFI's sensibility to placement makes the objects and the different materials be seen in a most elegant way.

In the dining room, I mixed sun-bleached woods with linen upholstery, cow hide, and some fabulous amber ghost chairs. The large canvas artwork was perfect in color and style, as it mixed golds and blues, had a coastal subject matter, and was painted in a contemporary fashion. I used these chrome wall brackets to display white corals, and to create a geometric rhythm.
