This client moved into their new home and as part of making it their own, wanted to change the fieldstone fireplace into something more suitable to the existing interior décor and new furnishings. White marble was chosen and the vertical bead board paneling was used to match other features of the home. Wiring and cable were installed behind the art area on the possibility that it might be converted some day to a media room.

A built-in floor-to-ceiling laundry cabinet integrated into a bathroom niche in a compact Moscow apartment. The cabinetry is finished in a rich green tone, matching the wall and ceiling color to create a seamless architectural composition. The upper section features closed storage with clean, modern fronts, while a 30 cm open niche separates the cabinetry from the integrated gray washing machine below, improving usability and ventilation. Through the open white modern door, the bathroom interior is visible, finished with vertical white subway tiles that add texture and contrast to the monochrome green space. The solution maximizes storage while maintaining a calm, cohesive aesthetic suitable for small apartments.

This wet room in Doncaster had become so mouldy and dirty the owners didn’t know what to do with it. The Limestone and Marble Mosaics on the floor and the Ceramic wall tile and Grout throughout the bathroom had become so badly affected with mould, nothing they could buy from could resolve it. Following my site visit I was confident the room could be cleaned up (in-fact I have seen worse), I explained what we could do to restore and revamp the wet room and they were happy to go ahead with my quote. First, I opened windows to maximise ventilation and then working top down I set about tackling the Ceramic wall tile and grout by spraying on a strong dilution of Tile Doctor Pro-Clean. Spraying on the solution mixes it with air making it lighter and easier to stick to the wall where it can soak in and get to work breaking down the mould. After about fifteen minutes it was scrubbed into the tile and specifically the grout joints where it was needed most. This action releases grime and other contamination from the grout. The room needed a series of different treatments due to the different tiles and areas of mould, so I followed that up with Tile Doctor Duo Clean. This is a bleach-based cleaner which is brilliant at tackling mould and getting the grout back to its original colour. The Ceramic tile in this bathroom has a textured surface which traps dirt so to get them clean I also used Tile Doctor Oxy-Gel. Being a Gel is easily sticks to the vertical surface allowing for longer dwell times which allows the product to dissolve the dirt and make it easier to remove. With the walls looking much clear for my efforts I turned my attention to the Mosaic floor tiles. For these I went straight in with a cocktail combination of Tile Doctor Pro-Clean and Duo Clean cleaners which I knew from cleaning the wall tiles would have the right impact. I was also able to use a buffing machine fitted with a poly brush attachment and running at medium speed to do most of the scrubbing. The grout lines were green with mould, and I was able to get this process to return the Mosaics and grout lines back to their original state. The slurry was removed with a wet vacuum and rinsed thoroughly with water. It took many hours and repeated scrubbing to get the room looking like it should. I was then able to finally leave for the day and allow the wet room to dry out overnight. I returned the following morning and started by removing all the old silicone from the corners of the room, much of it had become stained and difficult to get clean so replacement was the best option. The waste was removed and replaced with a new bead of mould resistant silicone colour matched to suit the tiles. The Mosaics has fully dried by this point, so I was then able to apply a sealer to floor to seal in the Marble and Limestone floor Mosaics and grout. I used a couple of coats of Tile Doctor Colour Grow for this, it’s a breathable impregnating sealer that’s suitable for wet rooms. For the wall tile and grout, I used an aerosol sealer which will help protect the walls from getting mouldy and dirty again. Once I had finished, I educated the owners on how to keep up the cleaning of the room supplying them with a complimentary bottle of Tile Doctor Aqua-Pro shower tile Cleaner. This is much better than any supermarket cleaner as it is pH neutral and will ensure that the newly applied sealant will not be prematurely affected. Hopefully, this will ensure it never gets quite so bad in the future however improved ventilation is the real key to solving that problem. Originally built in 1851, this private residence once served as the general store for the historic town of Odessa, Delaware. After several years of restoration projects, the owners decided to address the home’s undersized kitchen by building an addition in the area currently occupied by a poorly built enclosed porch. The owners’ desire was to have a modern kitchen that would provide them with the latest advancements, and an informal eating area that provided views to the back lawn and garden. In order to make the home livable, in spite of possible ambulatory issues that come with aging, a full bath was also on the ‘must-have’ list. Along with the spatial requirements, major importance was placed upon creating an addition which would blend in suitably with the historic home, using sympathetic and harmonious materials. The addition aligns the main workspace of the kitchen with the existing door leading from the original house and terminates with a Palladian window, while a vaulted barrel roof and ceiling celebrate the kitchen as the home’s new gathering space for friends and family. The curving bead board ceiling is up lit from fixtures mounted behind a traditional cornice, while traditional cabinetry in natural and painted finishes are topped by natural stone and wood counters. Traditional fixtures and reclaimed heart-pine plank flooring add both character and warmth to the rooms. The exterior brickwork takes its cues from the original house, while the horizontal siding accents the barrel roof and Palladian window. THE SETUP This remodeling project transformed a catchall room into a cinema-style theater designed for family entertainment and relaxation. The original space, which housed a small TV, older furniture, and various children’s toys, was reimagined to create a sophisticated, adult-friendly home theater with ample seating and modern amenities. Design Objectives: Create a Dark Theater Space: Ensure the room mimics a traditional movie theater environment. Provide Comfortable Theater Seating: Include enough seating for the family and guests. Design Challenges: Natural light: The room was too bright for a theater setting. Seating: Accommodating six theater seats without obstructing views. Dry Bar: Incorporating a dry bar area without overcrowding the space. Viewing: Ensuring the TV placement allows for comfortable, optimized viewing. THE RENEWED SPACE Design Solutions: Natural Light Control: Installed blackout remote shades on the back window and painted the walls dark charcoal to reduce natural light infiltration. Seating Arrangement: Built a second level for the back row of seating to ensure unobstructed views for all movie watchers. Lighting Design: Installed sconces on either side of the window that shine from the sides (to avoid interfering with the viewing experience). AV Equipment Storage: Utilized existing recess areas with custom shelves matching the cabinetry and concealed cables using a PVC pipe system. Dry Bar Integration: Created a dry bar area on the back wall with a refrigerator, candy storage, and a small counter space for a popcorn machine and ice maker, with locked drawers to prevent unsupervised access. Optimal Viewing Distance: Evaluated multiple floor plans and placed the TV on the most suitable wall to ensure optimal viewing and comfortable reclined seating. Final Thoughts: The completed home theater has been a resounding success, providing a versatile space for the entire family. The thoughtful design and meticulous attention to detail have created a functional and enjoyable home theater that meets diverse needs, from watching movies and playing video games to relaxing and reading. The areas to the sides of the theater seats can accommodate spillover seating or activity zones. The area housing the AV equipment also includes extra shelves for storing snuggle-grade movie viewing blankets. This theater space has become a favorite hangout spot, offering comfort and entertainment for everyone. This project is a client case study of a homeowner living in The Hague, Netherlands. The client's residence is a 180-square-meter detached villa. Originally from Vietnam, they immigrated to the Netherlands and settled in a picturesque town in The Hague. With a passion for tea culture, the entire house is styled in a modern fusion of Chinese and Japanese influences, predominantly featuring white and black-gray furniture, and even includes a dedicated tea room. The client reached out to us via Facebook, seeking recommendations and assistance in selecting suitable lighting fixtures for their dining area. We discussed their floor plan and desired style in detail. Firstly, considering the spaciousness of their villa, the dining area required ambient lighting rather than a central overhead light. We suggested incorporating pendant lights, spotlights, or strip lights to enhance the overall atmosphere. Secondly, their home decor adopted a minimalist approach, primarily using a black-white-gray color scheme, making vibrant and colorful lighting fixtures unsuitable. The Urban is a modular sofa combining elegance, simplicity and style with a sober, rational and contemporary design that makes it perfectly suitable for both modern and classic interiors. This is a case study of a client living in Hong Kong. The client's residence is a 100-square-meter home. The client approached us with a requirement to find suitable lighting fixtures for their entire house. The home decor style combines modern design with a mix of natural wood and Scandinavian influences. The client wanted to select different pendant lights for each room - the living room, dining room, two bedrooms, and balcony. They wished for these pendant lights to perfectly match the style and complement each room, while also being budget-friendly. For the living room, the client desired a touch of Chinese-style wooden accents. Hence, we selected a bamboo-woven pendant light with a Chinese design. As for the balcony, the client wanted a consistent style with the living room, so we chose a double-layered bamboo-woven pendant light. For the two bedrooms, the master bedroom leaned towards a predominantly white color scheme, so we opted for a white Scandinavian-style pendant light. The second bedroom had a focus on natural wood, so we selected a wooden pumpkin-shaped pendant light. For the dining room, which had an overall modern white theme, we chose a white Macaron-style PH5 pendant light. Interestingly, during the process of selecting lighting fixtures, the client also became interested in our multifunctional robot-inspired five-layered dressing table. They ultimately decided to purchase and install it in the master bedroom. Upon receiving the products, the client expressed their satisfaction with how well the lighting fixtures aligned with their requirements.
