RenovisionsThese South Shore of Boston homeowners are no different than many recent clients who show an interest in upgrading their dated and aged bathrooms. They are looking to modernize, reflecting today’s bath trends but also desire increased re-sale value with new fixtures, tile and ventilation system. Given the time we spend in our baths, it is not surprising. (A recent Houzz, survey found that 60% of people occupy their bathrooms for at least one hour per day plus 58% of people surveyed said they use their smart phone or tablet to handle a multitude of activities.)
This stunning full bath Renovision involved replacing the existing builder-grade vanity, sink and faucet with striking dark blue cabinetry featuring a bank of three deep drawers on each side of a two-door sink base. This client likes the new standard vanity height, no 34.5” which allows more storage space for cosmetic and cleaning supply items.
Silestone’s Blanco Zeus countertop clearly modernizes the look and feel of this bath and doesn’t take away from the grey wood-look planked porcelain tiled floor which is on trend. The tub/shower walls with niche for shampoos and 3”x6” white subway tiles reflect a classic, clean and fresh look. The curved shower rod provides additional room while showering and its chrome finish ties in with the new shiny fixtures.
Adding a few architectural elements definitely enhanced this bath. Renovisions re-worked the existing closet space with a custom built piece which included open shelving to store bath towels and door(s) on the bottom to accommodate laundry hamper.
This furniture-look closet along with the window, trims and plantation shutters were color matched in the same white painted finish; stylish and sensible indeed!

The final design included balustrades on both sides with continuous handrails, and a central double handrail with inset LED lights. Once we had a design approved by the architect and our engineer, we only had two weeks left to manufacture the design. Two long working weeks later, we managed to get everything to site in time for us to install before their completion date.

Amazing SpacesThis kitchen renovation involved a complete overhaul of the look and feel of the existing kitchen, and transforming it into a family-friendly kitchen that conformed to the client's aesthetic: modern, rustic and eclectic. The adjacent mudroom, laundry room and powder room were surveyed to see how much flexibility there was to enhance the kitchen layout while improving upon all of the spaces. The homeowners felt strongly about light painted cabinets and let us guide the rest of the design.
This family enters the house mainly through the garage, and enhancing that experience was important to us. We shifted the door to the garage which led to the creation of a rear entrance hall- a perfect place to add cabinetry and counter space to help organize daily clutter. Branching off the hallway is the new mudroom complete with a bench, open and closed storage, and coat hooks; and the laundry room which also features an abundance of storage. The new hallway shifts the circulation toward the rear of the house allowing the new kitchen layout to take advantage of the entire space.

This closet is definitely Top Dog when it comes to storage and amenities within a small space. The design includes hanging areas for his and her clothing with numerous pull-outs for organizing belts, scarves, ties, pant racks and a valet pole. Shelving on "his" side of the closet organizes a large sweater collection, while a hutch unit on "her" side with reeded glass doors provides ample storage for handbags and small accessories. The reeded glass on the upper cabinet keeps items visible, but offers a less cluttered look by screening contents. The shoe spinner shoe organizer holds between 85 and 200 pairs of shoes on a rotating base, ensuring that footwear is always easy to find. A small closet island occupies the center of the walk-in, dividing the space into "his" and "hers" sides, while providing a favorite perch for the family dog to effectively survey his realm and keep an eye on all comings and goings.

Southern Dreamscapes LLCThe original grade here in front of the modular wall was more than 10' down! That's a LOT of compacted soil...
the entire area was somewhere in the range of 800+ tandem truckloads of fill dirt which is held back by 10' of interlocking concrete blocks (modular wall).
All of the drainage from this massive area extends to the far road near the Tee box, (the highest point) and emptying through a 4' diameter pipe. Rainfall runoff produces anything from a small creek to a small river.
The last form is in place marking the lowest point of the Privacy... notice the wire back silt fence (held fast by metal spikes deep into the soil) continues around the area which is over the modular wall. It continues around the entire perimeter of the project, per County/ State and Federal code regulations. If there's no barrier for silt control, the fines can be massive!
Twisted Rock Terrascape & Design, Inc.Our client wanted a nice, tranquil, and easy to maintain new backyard space to replace the cluttered and overgrown space that they inherited when they purchased their new home. They had some major drainage issues from a "hole" under the old deck and the previous owners had built the deck right over the egress window well from the basement, which is not to code. We demo'd the old yard, ensured proper drainage with a survey, and built an easy to maintain solid paver surface for lots of sitting options and a future spa. We ran 220v power for the spa as well as had an egress cover made for the window well so now it is safe for occupants as well as for kids or pets so they don't fall in. What a transformation!!
