Teak – also known as Tectona-Grandis can be left outdoors all year long and stay beautiful for decades. It can be oiled to get a saturated brown color or it can be left in its original condition (untreated) and it will over time get the pretty silvery gray which teak is so famous for. Teak does not splinter which is nice to know if you use it for flooring but this is also very comforting to know when you use it as seating and dining furniture. It is heat tolerant in the way that it remains pleasant even when left in a hot environment – unlike metal, stone and plastic. Known to resist invasions of insects this resilient timber is also frequently used for outdoor flooring. Our teak furniture is constructed out of Grade-A timber, harvested from plantation grown teak forests which is managed by the government of Indonesia. Cushions are available separately.
