When not in use, the spa softly recirculates water back into the pool creating a glass-like surface. This close up look at the dark grey exposed aggregate Pebble Tec interior reveals the reflections from the tiny seashell fragments which during the day sparkle in the sun.

The pool’s lighting from is from Spa Electric, Australia. The Atom LED system can be set to a single colour or a changing rainbow of colours. The convenient Jandy control system allows most components to be controlled remotely or from inside the home. What a beautiful testament to choosing the very best.

The sloping yard requires the patio to drop down three steps at the point where the pool begins. Rather than having the pool at the lower level, it was decided to keep it at the level of the upper deck. This has the benefit of creating a knee wall around the pool, which conveniently provides additional seating for large groups.

The pool deck is architectural stamped concrete custom coloured in a rock skins finish to contrast with the pool’s Wiarton buff flagstone coping. Next to the outdoor dining table is the focal point of the area, an elegant roof structure which shelters a sunken outdoor living room three steps below the pool deck.

This retired couple wanted a pool, it had to be the best that money can buy. Consequently, Betz recommended a Lautner edge perimeter overflow pool, set perfectly flush with the deck to create the appearance of a sheet of glass. Full width walk-in steps extend the minimal look.
