The in-law suite kitchen could only be in a small corner of the basement. The kitchen design started with the question: how small can this kitchen be? The compact layout was designed to provide generous counter space, comfortable walking clearances, and abundant storage. The bold colors and fun patterns anchored by the warmth of the dark wood flooring create a happy and invigorating space.

For this backyard project, our team performed comprehensive turf and landscape management to restore a lush, healthy lawn and define the surrounding plant beds. We carried out targeted soil preparation and turf renovation right up to the existing paver patio and deck stairs, creating a vibrant, dense green lawn that seamlessly meets the hardscape. The existing garden beds were carefully edged, pruned, and dressed with fresh, natural pine straw to highlight the healthy evergreens and mature screening trees along the woodland border.
To prepare the area for upcoming irrigation, utility, or drainage enhancements, our technicians marked out precise utility lines directly across the turf. This careful layout work ensures that any underground modifications or ongoing property maintenance can be completed safely without disrupting the newly established grass or root systems. At Pine Valley Turf Management, we focus on both the visible beauty of a deep green lawn and the foundational groundwork needed to keep your outdoor spaces thriving long-term.

Open concept kitchen - mid-sized traditional l-shaped ceramic tile open concept kitchen idea in Oklahoma City with a drop-in sink, recessed-panel cabinets, white cabinets, granite countertops, beige backsplash, ceramic backsplash, stainless steel appliances and an island

MMI Design was hired to assist our client with with an extensive kitchen, living room, and dining remodel. The original floor plan was overly compartmentalized and the kitchen may have been the tiniest kitchen on the planet! By taking out a wall which separated the spaces and stealing square footage from the under-utilized dining room, MMI was able to transform the space into a light, bright and open floor plan. The new kitchen has room for multiple cooks with all the bells and whistles of modern day kitchens, and the living spaces are large enough to entertain friends and family. We are especially proud of this project, as we believe it is not only beautiful but also transformative in terms of the new livability of the spaces.

This custom enclosed wine rack and cabinetry project in Evanston, IL was designed to transform a standard dining room alcove into a sophisticated entertaining hub. Conceived as a turnkey millwork solution, this built-in combines the secure storage of an enclosed wine cabinet with the functionality of a residential bar. The design features a solid wood enclosure crafted from rift-cut white oak, finished in a custom limed stain that highlights the grain while providing a durable, matte surface that complements the home's modern aesthetic.
Inside, the wine racking is configured for optimal display and capacity. The left side features a "label-forward" display system in satin black powder-coated metal, allowing bottles to be showcased. The right side utilizes high-density wooden storage to maximize bottle count for longer-term aging. Soft-integrated LED lighting illuminates the collection and creates a warm ambiance visible through the glass-front upper cabinetry, while a ducted wine cooling system discreetly housed in the base maintains ideal temperature and humidity.
Designed for both immediate enjoyment and long-term preservation, the unit integrates seamlessly into the home's architecture. From custom millwork design and metal fabrication to final installation, this project represents a one-stop approach to custom built-ins for discerning homeowners throughout Evanston, the North Shore, and the greater Chicago area.
