Inspiration for a contemporary living room remodel in Richmond

Library Window Treatment All the original furnishings, prints and artifacts are still in place with the exception of textiles. By the 1970's most of the textiles were quite faded and fibers on the back of window treatments had started to crumble. To protect the remnants, any textiles that were not permanently affixed to the wall were moved to climate controlled storage. Working with staff at the Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle, we examined these remnants and reviewed research documents. Copies of Mercer's receipts for fabric purchases are still on file! Using this information we sourced new materials and had our workroom custom replicate the original design.

The Christopher Guy headboard with its organic round rock shapes offers a gentle nod to the CL Sterling rock crystal chandelier. The Niba rug of blue and green are the cornerstone for the room while the lavender, green, and blue textiles from Donghia provide a sense of warmth and tranquility. The custom blanket in Holland & Sherry's cashmere pulls the lavender from the textiles into the room. While the neutral accent pieces, like the corner lounge chair and the white custom lacquer are the perfect counter balance to the other elements.

Set a unique table with our luxurious Elise Indigo table linens. Hand printed in India using eco-friendly dyes on organic cotton we love the fresh riff on traditional Indian prints. And they’re machine washable for easy care.

We designed two extravagant living rooms, both dressed in eye-catching hues, plush textiles, and detailed finishes. Rich and intricate woodwork and custom tailored window treatments add immense personality and edge while velvet textiles in soft blush and green tones soften up the space, creating intimacy. Grandiose fireplace design, custom wall murals, and a mixing of prints and patterns keep the style unique yet refined. The outcome of these spaces exude the creative, artistic, and daring style of our clients. Home located in Tampa, Florida. Our hand painted vintage hemp bedcover and pillows, all handmade & custom for this project.

Situated at the base of the Tramuntana mountains amidst sheepbells and clucking chickens, this casita is surrounded by color: greens and yellows crawling up the vine-wrapped pergola and of the hundreds-years old succulents in the surrounding valley. It was quite an easy decision to to bring these outdoor colors in.⁣ First we painted the four seating cushions (measuring nearly 6 meters) varying shades of sage & ashy green. These base seating pieces all feature our signature vintage details like hand-stitched seams. And each of the 20+ pillows used as accents & for back support is unique. We chose to dial up & down each expression of goldenrod so the transition from sage to gold was seamless and elegant. No two pieces are alike.⁣ Photo by: Victor Prieto
