Media rooms don't have to be dark to be inviting and cozy, and our clients did NOT want the usual media room colors. So we designed a glamorous and inviting retreat in hues of cream, silver and gold accents. Three of the seats recline for the ultimate viewing experience. Custom created art work completes the look and ties the pillow fabrics together.

This project is an Electronic House Magazine award winner: http://electronichouse.com/article/small_house_goes_big_with_home_automation We were brought into this project just as the major remodel was underway, allowing us to bring together a feature-rich audio/video and automation system with elegant integration into the spaces. This system provides simple control and automation of the lights, climate, audio/video, security, video surveillance, and door locks. The homeowner can use their iPads or iPhones to control everything in their home, or when away.

Gramophone and its Design & Build team worked together to design and create this elegant but casual theater, inspired by and evolved from the aesthetics of the client's yacht. Black mohair and alligator leather textures along with vintage touches set this space apart from others considered off the shelf. To keep the space neat, the projector was hidden away in a projector room behind the theater, while components were nestled away in a rack tower. Clients' first home and there forever home with a family of four and in laws close, this home needed to be able to grow with the family. This most recent growth included a few home additions including the kids bathrooms (on suite) added on to the East end, the two original bathrooms were converted into one larger hall bath, the kitchen wall was blown out, entrying into a complete 22'x22' great room addition with a mudroom and half bath leading to the garage and the final addition a third car garage. This space is transitional and classic to last the test of time.

If you want to have the best of both worlds - keep your TV and incorporate a fireplace in your living room - we have great news for you! Electric fireplace is safe to install underneath a TV (as long as you maintain a minimum recommended distance - usually 12"-24"). Here are some pictures of wall mounted electric fireplaces with TV's above for your inspiration.

The screening room has chaise lounges, reclining theater chairs and grasscloth walls, which help absorb sound. There is a refreshment area along its back wall, directly behind the room's backlit onyx bar. The bar offers places to sit while drinking and dining.

Another great placement for a wall mounted electric fireplace is a sitting or lounge area of your living room. Picture having a deep conversation with your friend sitting on a couple of chairs in front of the fireplace while enjoying the peaceful flickering of the flames. Or reading a book on a chaise next to the fireplace and absorbing the warmth radiating from the it.
