Inspiration for a small contemporary home weight room remodel in Toronto with white walls

VINTAGE Porcelain Tiles Vintage is a glazed porcelain tile manufactured with the latest digital technologies. The “cross inlay” is a faithful reproduction of real carved woods hand crafted like in the antique and traditional workshops. This is a "3 season room" (in the north) in which the existing concrete was stained xengraved and sealed. The family name was stenciled onto the concrete using a vinyl cut stencil from the local sign shop Digital Designs. The stain is a water based and the sealer is solvent based.

This awesome gameroom/bar is companion to the over-the-top theater in the adjoining room. Note the precision installation of the three televisions—they are lined up perfectly, and that is very difficult to do. The video wall boasts two 40" Sony flatscreens, and one 52" Sony XBR. The audio, video, and custom lighting are controlled with a handheld color remote. Digital signage on another wall runs an endless loop of all the home team's best plays spanning the last few years. The 7,720-square foot home, located at 1867 Long Pointe Dr., sits on the banks of Upper Long Lake. It has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, five fireplaces, a glass elevator that goes to all three floors, an indoor half-basketball court (with flooring from when the Pistons played at the Silverdome), a 625-bottle wine cellar, hot/cold tubs, sauna and the largest infinity pool in the state. A vast, wet room-style shower comes equipped with all the gadgets a DTV (digital thermostat valve) can offer: three body sprays, a large shower head, and a handheld shower-- perhaps to be used while sitting on the custom, corner seat. It also includes a unique tile mosaic, accentuating each shade of gray/black throughout the room. Ample storage space can be found left of the vanities, perfect for keeping the bathroom organized and tidy!

In order to create a spa feel, a designer linear shower drain, and customized shower with beautiful surface materials such as glass tile, glass block and pebble floor tile were incorporated for a luxurious atmosphere. Three body sprays, fixed shower head, and separate hand-held shower head add to a pleasant shower experience. We installed 3 double combination shower niches to keep the shower products organized and easily accessible. In addition, four attractive robe hooks are mounted inside the shower for additional storage for loofa and body brushes. A digital shower interface system controls the water temperature and different shower components with just a touch of the fingertips. The LCD display can be programmed to the users’ liking. We installed the display near the shower entry so it can be controlled from the outside of the shower to avoid getting wet, as well as from inside the shower. Photos by Jayce Giddens
