Like most of our projects, we can't gush about this reno—a new kitchen and mudroom, ensuite closet and pantry—without gushing about the people who live there. The best projects, we always say, are the ones in which client, contractor and design team are all present throughout, conception to completion, each bringing their particular expertise to the table and forming a cohesive, trustworthy team that is mutually invested in a smooth and successful process. They listen to each other, give the benefit of the doubt to each other, do what they say they'll do. This project exemplified that kind of team, and it shows in the results. Most obvious is the opening up of the kitchen to the dining room, decompartmentalizing somewhat a century-old bungalow that was originally quite purposefully compartmentalized. As a result, the kitchen had to become a place one wanted to see clear through from the front door. Inset cabinets and carefully selected details make the functional heart of the house equal in elegance to the more "public" gathering spaces, with their craftsman depth and detail. An old back porch was converted to interior space, creating a mudroom and a much-needed ensuite walk-in closet. A new, larger deck went on: Phase One of an extensive design for outdoor living, that we all hope will be realized over the next few years. Finally, a duplicative back stairwell was repurposed into a walk-in pantry. Modernizing often means opening spaces up for more casual living and entertaining, and/or making better use of dead space. In this re-conceptualized old house, we did all of that, creating a back-of-the-house that is now bright and cheerful and new, while carefully incorporating meaningful vintage and personal elements. The best result of all: the clients are thrilled. And everyone who went in to the project came out of it friends. Our team recently completed a major renovation project in the Lawrence Park area, focusing on the main floor of the home. The goal of the project was to update and modernize the space, while also improving functionality and increasing the overall value of the property. The main areas of focus included the kitchen, flooring, painting, and trim work. In the kitchen, we completely overhauled the space, installing new appliances, cabinets, and countertops. The layout was also reconfigured to create a more open and functional space for cooking and entertaining. In terms of flooring, we worked with the homeowners to choose a durable and stylish option that would work well with the overall design aesthetic of the home. We ultimately settled on a hardwood option that provided a warm and inviting feel to the space. The painting was also an important part of the renovation, with the homeowners opting for a fresh, modern color palette that would complement the new flooring and kitchen design. We worked closely with them to select the perfect shades and finishes for each room, creating a cohesive and welcoming space. Finally, we updated the trim work throughout the main floor, including baseboards, window and door frames, and crown molding. This helped to tie together all of the design elements and create a polished and sophisticated look throughout the space. Despite the scale of the project, we were able to complete it in just two months, working closely with the homeowners to ensure that their vision was realized. The end result is a stunning and functional space that the homeowners are thrilled with, and one that will provide enjoyment and value for years to come.

Originally a kitchen seating area within a former golf clubhouse, this space was masterfully reimagined into a formal dining room capable of seating up to ten guests while honoring a timeless, traditional aesthetic. We preserved the existing ceiling alcove color as the foundation for the room’s design palette, reinforcing this connection with a textured navy sisal wallpaper that adds depth, warmth, and visual interest. It’s all in the details. Who says that an at home gym should be plain and utterly boring? In this well designed gym room Cheryl wanted to create not only a functional work out area but also a fun and funky feel. A classic colour palette of black and white sets the tone of this space with bold pops of red adding a fun element. Cheryl had an eye catching statement black and white wallpaper of faces printed that adds the wow factor to the gym. A set of black framed complimentary prints feature above the built in joinery unit which houses a bar fridge. An inspirational decal quote adorns the mirrored wall - perfect for that little bit of extra motivation. All windows are dressed in a sheer weave roller blinds and striped roman blinds allowing for complete privacy. The gym is fully equipped with a treadmill, exercise bicycle, weighted dumbbells, exercise balls and more. Gym flooring is ideal for workouts and enhances the functionality of the space. The perfect gym experience in the comfort and convenience of your own home. We are so thrilled with the outcome. A home gym that makes you look forward to exercising.

With a baby on the way and old cabinets falling apart at the seams, a kitchen remodel was the number one priority for our clients in their charming, historic Denver home. It was essential to make the kitchen feel more spacious and open, while still maintaining it’s original footprint and privacy from the rest of the house. Cabinets on three out of four walls caved into the center of the kitchen, making it feel small and difficult for even two people to be moving about! By eliminating cabinetry on the west wall, we were able to not only make the kitchen feel bigger and brighter, but we also revealed the characteristic exposed brick that was hiding behind a string of cabinets! The brick wall adds so much character and, paired with the wainscoting, is a beautiful nod to the home’s historic charm. As passionate cooks and hosts, it was crucial for our clients to have an island to utilize the counter space for prepping food and having a place for friends or family to sit and chat while they cooked a meal. Small but mighty, the island is the center of attention with a beautiful black walnut butcher block countertop, cabinets for storage, and seating for three! Our favorite feature in this kitchen sits just above the gas range; the custom wood surround on the range hood was handcrafted onsite as the final finishing touch. The elements of the natural wood, soft French grey cabinets, satin brass hardware and intricate marble herringbone backsplash all come together on this one wall, giving you a moment of cohesive glee. We are thrilled with the transformation, and our clients are elated to have a beautiful new kitchen for their new, growing family.
