However, even just by updating the decor in your home you can create a beautiful and fresh looking space. One space that is particularly easy to overhaul is the dining room. This is one of the smaller rooms in the home and contains a minimal amount of furniture, making the remodeling process quick and simple. An essential factor of dining room design is the color scheme of this space. When searching for the best paint colors for a dining room you should keep a few things in mind, including your design, the size of the room, and the décor of the rest of your house. Because it tends to be smaller than most rooms in the home you do not want to choose a really dark or overwhelming color like black or bright fuchsia. Rather save these hues as accents in dark wood furniture, curtains, pictures, and other wall art. In this dining room we kept the colors neutral and added more accents to hi-gloss moldings, highlighting the architecture of the space and creating space definition with a TOUCH OF CLASS - TOC When it comes to lighting for the dining room you have a lot of options such as chandeliers or wall sconces, however natural light is always best. If you already have windows in this space try to keep them uncovered or use sheer fabric curtains to allow optimum illumination in throughout the day. Step 1: Out with the Old: The most costly and time-consuming part of a bathroom renovation is relocating plumbing and electrical fixtures. The demo involved can leave the space unusable for weeks, with walls that need repair and tiles that need replacing. So I decided to leave the existing bathroom layout in place but replace the sink and tub fixtures. When this Mattawan family moved into their new home it came with an unappealing, non-functional fountain. In a bargain with their 4-year old, the family decided a koi pond would replace their time consuming, high-maintenance indoor aquarium. We were able to replace their existing unsightly fountain with a small lower maintenance koi pond and waterfall.

Renovating and remodeling your home can be rewarding when done right. This could increase the value of the home. However, the challenges or renovations are long and tough. It is time-consuming, requires a lot of effort, and costly.

Before renovating this room, the wood paneling was stained and it looked very dated. As an affordable and less time consuming option to refinishing it, I painted the wall paneling. Then, I removed shutters that looked very visually heavy and installed woven wood shades with a privacy liner. Using a neutral foundation, I added color with accessories and art.

This garden will be open to the public as "Tranquil California" on Saturday, April 9th for the California Native Plant Society spring garden tour. All that boring, time-consuming lawn is gone, making room for bids, bees, and butterflies. Now this garden is a fit habitat for a much wider range of party animals!
