Inspiration for a country shed remodel in Chicago

The Kushners wanted to turn their dysfunctional backyard into an outdoor living space. Landsystems Landscapes developed their yard into four distinctive areas. A dining area, a hang out spot with a fire pit, a Bocci Ball court, and a space for a vegetable garden. The Kushners wanted low maintenance, so we made sure to plant drought tolerant shrubs, and lay down easy to manage hardscaping. Melissa Wright

Built on top of an existing garage, this rooftop kitchen garden maximizes unused space, receives full sun and has a great view of Puget Sound! The garage was retrofitted to sustain the weight loads of the soil and water and wood. Modeled after the French potager, this garden was designed to mirror the Mediterranean style of the house and tie into the lush surrounding landscape. Hilary Dahl

Design ideas for a contemporary landscaping in New York.

This potager garden is tucked into a private, sunny courtyard. Built-in trellises lining the east side of the garden help to create the outdoor room in which the garden sits and provide a permanent structure for vining crops such as peas, tomatoes and cucumber. The custom wood-framed raised beds are stained to match the exterior trim of the house seamlessly tying the garden into the fabric of the site. Hilary Dahl
