A tight urban space dictates that planting is not only vertical but that every square inch of space is used every month of the year. In June, in addition to the apple trees which are espaliered, tomatoes are grown in containers (newly planted here, so they are only 1 foot tall), while herbs tightly hug the garden border. During the day of planting (latter half of June) in raised bed #1 (delayed because of the cool 2026 spring and low soil temperatures). The soil is now warm enough to plant edibles which thrive in warm weather and prefer warmer soil: Tomato, Basil, Marigolds - all have similar preferences. It will not be necessary to mow any grass around the beds, because gravel (with a thick layer of cardboard underneath) prevents both weeds and grass from poking through, making for fewer maintenance chores.

A secluded retreat from the rest of the world. This Gourmet Garden houses a wonderful array of flowers, vegetables, fruit, and herbs. In order to protect the precious plants from deer and other herbivores, the Gourmet Garden is protected on all sides by wire walls making it a shielded sanctuary of relaxation.

Easy to assemble and made with Western Red Cedar, known for its beauty, strength, and durability. Plants like tomatoes and peppers can be planted early in the greenhouse and later moved out to your garden so you can get an early jump on your growing season.
