We constructed the wooden wine racks from Malaysian Mahogany, a durable and appealing type of wood. You can see the display row that is well-illuminated. We used LED lighting system to prevent wine damage due to excessive heat. The diamond bins at the bottom section are ideal for bulk storage. In this elegant and simple kitchen renovation, the owners wanted to add extra lighting to two places in the kitchen that normally do not receive enough light - the under cabinet area and in the cabinets. The owners wanted to find a simple solution without having excess installation requirements, such as drilling and work to fit large traditional lighting fixtures. Here instead they looked to Solid Apollo for the slim and easy to install LED Strip Light - shown here in the beautiful Warm White color, which suits the wood cabinet colors. The LED Strip Light has an extremely low profile and includes double sided sticky back tape for an easy to install and permanent installation. The photos shown here show the completed kitchen with the LED Lights turned on, another photo of the renovation in progress and several photos of the dimmer, simple barrel connections, and the slide and lock LED Strip connectors for quick easy-to-hide connections. The dimmer used here is the iTouch LED Dimmer, which is a simple in-line LED Dimmer for quick and easy on/off and dimming control. And with the included double sided tape, the slim dimmer can easily be hidden in a discrete location, compared to unsightly traditional wall dimmers that upset the carefully chosen back splash designs and require excessive effort for installation.

Winner of the 2018 Tour of Homes Best Remodel, this whole house re-design of a 1963 Bennet & Johnson mid-century raised ranch home is a beautiful example of the magic we can weave through the application of more sustainable modern design principles to existing spaces. We worked closely with our client on extensive updates to create a modernized MCM gem. Extensive alterations include: - a completely redesigned floor plan to promote a more intuitive flow throughout - vaulted the ceilings over the great room to create an amazing entrance and feeling of inspired openness - redesigned entry and driveway to be more inviting and welcoming as well as to experientially set the mid-century modern stage - the removal of a visually disruptive load bearing central wall and chimney system that formerly partitioned the homes’ entry, dining, kitchen and living rooms from each other - added clerestory windows above the new kitchen to accentuate the new vaulted ceiling line and create a greater visual continuation of indoor to outdoor space - drastically increased the access to natural light by increasing window sizes and opening up the floor plan - placed natural wood elements throughout to provide a calming palette and cohesive Pacific Northwest feel - incorporated Universal Design principles to make the home Aging In Place ready with wide hallways and accessible spaces, including single-floor living if needed - moved and completely redesigned the stairway to work for the home’s occupants and be a part of the cohesive design aesthetic - mixed custom tile layouts with more traditional tiling to create fun and playful visual experiences - custom designed and sourced MCM specific elements such as the entry screen, cabinetry and lighting - development of the downstairs for potential future use by an assisted living caretaker - energy efficiency upgrades seamlessly woven in with much improved insulation, ductless mini splits and solar gain

The 2 Panel Barn Door is the most universal of all the doors in terms of adapting to different styles. Widely seen as a more modern look, the sharp edges and lack of excessive design allows the barn door to blend with all home decor. The door shop is able to manufacture the door to any style needed. The door itself is made with mortise and tenon joinery, along with engineered alder rails and stiles to ensure the doors longevity. The door includes a groove in the bottom of the door to accept floor guide. This barn door is complementary to any of our barn door hardware. Inspiration for a mid-sized eclectic stone porch container garden remodel in Los Angeles

What began as a problem-solving exercise to control excessive wind in the courtyard of a newly-built semi-custom Spanish Colonial Revival home in Orinda, CA, culminated in a true work of art. The hand-crafted metal and resin screen design began with a traditional Moorish star pattern that was scaled up then distorted slightly. Two-inch wide steel bars are interwoven to create a frame holding opaque resin panels that block both the wind and views from the neighboring property. Bland concrete floors were replaced with bespoke cement tiles that continue the Moorish star pattern and complete the client’s vision of a Spanish retreat in the California hills.
