This home in Johnstown needed a new roof and better attic ventilation. We installed a GAF Golden Pledge system on the roof which included: GAF Tiger Paw, a premium underlayment; GAF Pro Start starter strip installed on the eaves and rakes for 130mph wind warranty; GAF Weather Watch water and ice shield on the eaves; GAF Timberline HD shingles in the color Pewter Gray; GAF Z-Ridge hip and ridge cap; Cobra Ridge Venting and Cobra Intake Pro to improve the attic ventilation. This home does not have soffits, so we used Cobra Intake Pro to provide more intake of fresh air into the attic. This house is a great example of the type of situation that Cobra Intake Pro was specifically designed for. The GAF Golden Pledge roof system includes a 25 year guarantee against leaks and it is transferable for free in case the home is ever sold or transferred.

Lots of curves, in-pool bench, in-pool umbrella table, waterfalls, sling lift for handicap access, boulder wall, gazebo, mini pool house, weather stone wall, elevator lift to deck, and more!

The backyard exterior of this transitional Mediterranean design home features an infinity edge pool and spa with a sun shelf designed for wheel chair access as well as a fire bowl feature in the center of the pool. The pool is lined with a travertine marble perimeter pool coping. The pool deck is constructed of grey marble in a diagonal design. The upstairs balcony has a glass panel railing while the roof is constructed of barrel roof tiles. Construction by Robelen Hanna Homes.

Adding a penthouse perch to this 1899 row house with a harbor view demanded unusual tactics. To circumvent municipal limitations on floor area, a section of floor was removed from one level and “transferred” to the roof as a new studio space. To comply with local height limitations, an innovative structure of solid wood studs was deployed to reduce floor and ceiling thicknesses to the bare minimum. Aside from creating the desired rooftop refuge, these gymnastics also created a dynamic cascade of interior living spaces for an urban designer and his family.
