Full color Blue stone and small mexican pebbles replace the lawn and pathways resulting in an updated and contemporary transformation. We selected a variety of lush plants and succulents, strategically placing them around the pool and along the fence line. Modern planters filled with cascading greenery add vertical interest and a touch of sophistication. The greenery not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also creates a tranquil atmosphere, making the backyard a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Functional Installations A key aspect of this project was to ensure that the backyard was as functional as it was beautiful. To this end, we included an outdoor kitchen equipped with a grill and preparation area. The front yard has a nice clean simple design. The steps have the same terra cotta tiles and hand painted decorative tiles as the backyard and are flanked by decorative pots with succulents that lead to the focal point decorative pot at the top of the steps. Landscaping for the front and backyard were carefully planned with LED lights and a drip watering system. Drip watering systems are fantastic for water savings over conventional watering systems (such as a hose or sprinklers). Many of the plants selected are drought tolerant.

Rodwin Architecture & Skycastle Homes Location: Boulder, Colorado, USA Interior design, space planning and architectural details converge thoughtfully in this transformative project. A 15-year old, 9,000 sf. home with generic interior finishes and odd layout needed bold, modern, fun and highly functional transformation for a large bustling family. To redefine the soul of this home, texture and light were given primary consideration. Elegant contemporary finishes, a warm color palette and dramatic lighting defined modern style throughout. A cascading chandelier by Stone Lighting in the entry makes a strong entry statement. Walls were removed to allow the kitchen/great/dining room to become a vibrant social center. A minimalist design approach is the perfect backdrop for the diverse art collection. Yet, the home is still highly functional for the entire family. We added windows, fireplaces, water features, and extended the home out to an expansive patio and yard. The cavernous beige basement became an entertaining mecca, with a glowing modern wine-room, full bar, media room, arcade, billiards room and professional gym. Bathrooms were all designed with personality and craftsmanship, featuring unique tiles, floating wood vanities and striking lighting. I designed this project to provide a wonderful outdoor space complete with flagstone patio, seating boulders, gas fire pit and pondless water feature.
