New kitchen transformed service porch into a bay for dining table. New windows and trim details throughout are consistent with original design. For interior we combined period and modern lighting, historic cabinets with modern fixtures and hardware.

An outdated 1960’s home with smaller rooms typical of this period was completely transformed into a timeless lakefront retreat that embraces the client’s traditions and memories. Anchoring it firmly in the present are modern appliances, extensive use of natural light, and a restructured floor plan that appears both spacious and intimate.

This tired, unused San Francisco backyard was transformed into a modern, low-maintenance landscape with site-appropriate plantings enhanced by raised planting beds and a lead-free artificial lawn to replace the existing water-thirsty lawn. I created two separate "rooms" to break up the long narrow yard, and specified full range blue stone for the two small patio areas, connected by a curved pattern of rectangular pavers of the same natural stone. The raised concrete rectangular planting beds were incorporated to bring more movement and interest to the landscape along with gravel bed accents alongside. Some of the existing concrete remained, and was stained with a color to compliment the natural stone. These photos were taken over a three year period. Before photo: This was the original hall bathroom in the home. The wall that separates the tub from the vanity made the room feel small. We removed the wall and installed a period claw foot tub. See the after photo to see the transformation.

This bathroom used to be bright yellow! Yes, bright yellow!!! Now it speaks true to the period style of the home. Light gray walls, white subway tile with gray grout really transform this bathroom.

This young successful professional decided to completely transform his home. The work commenced with a total gutting of the property and a sustainable renovation followed. The home was heated by underfloor heating and equipped for all the latest technology. Great consideration was given to his active lifestyle and constant entertaining. His future plans to marry his wonderful fiancee and start a family all contributed to the outcome and great success of the project.

This Upper East Side prewar interior was specifically designed as a guest apartment for friends and family to stay for long periods of time. They wanted their guests to feel like home while staying in the city. Our criteria was that it had to be functional while remaining tailored, sophisticated and inviting. The space was rather dark so we opted for wallcoverings and paint colors that were soft, textural and exuded contrast. Our design was to completely renovate the living room, bathroom and master bedroom/sitting area. The kitchen was cosmetic with floor stain, paint, hardware and lighting. Grey, taupe, white and black were accents in the living room and created a friendly environment. This room also had to function as a guest room therefore a pullout sofa covered in a Lee Jofa linen was the perfect choice. The Bedroom has a soft palate which is extremely welcoming with touches of silver and pale grey. The hints of peacock blue and brown transform the space completely and work well with the pheasant mirror above the bed. There is also a reading nook where our star Winston occasionally takes naps when he returns from his runs in Central Park. Photo
