Our clients came to us with a dream to create a home that was beautiful, filled with classic details yet embody a Modern French aesthetic. We started with the foundation, selecting materials that would be the building blocks for our design. One of the joys of this project was the client's love of color, primarily in hues of blue. A special moment in the kitchen with its jewel-like Azul Macauba Quartzite countertop, brass hardware, and sailor’s coat blue island. As we are designing for a family, practical touches along with luxury elements were a must. Creative thinking was used to reimagine the entry closet into a multi-purpose space including the laundry, drop zone, and pantry. The master bath was filled with a classic design from the scones, wallcoverings to crystal hardware...all to transport you to a french apartment overlooking the streets of Paris. A modern twist inserted was the approach for the family room fireplace. The clean lines of stacked stone were the perfect touch. Our clients' dream home became reality in our Modern French Project and will be loved for years to come.

The Shadowood House is part of a farm that has been in the client's family for generations. At the beginning of the process, the clients were living in a house (where this one now sits) that had been through addition after addition, making the spaces feel cramped and non-cohesive. They wanted a space for family gatherings, that was a modern take on a simple farmhouse. The clients wanted a house that feels comfortable for their children and grandchildren, but also enables them to age-in-place. We commissioned this piece for our client with a Houston based artist we collaborate with frequently, Claire Richards. She does fantastic work, and her scale is typically very large, which isn't always easy to find. Transporting such a size of artwork can be interesting! An unusual and exceptionally beautiful work of art, the Carriage Crib, like the carriages of old it is modeled after, transports children to a time and place where prancing white horses, flowing gowns, and suits-of-armor are part of daily life. The crib cleverly holds a standard round mattress that is perfect for sleeping, as well as for transporting Cinderella to the ball. The carriage, wheels, balustrades and trim are painted different colors and accented by customizable fabrics for the crib cover and pillows. A variety of accessories, including a colorful, fringed canopy and assortment of pillows ensure the Carriage Crib will enhance fairytale themes and bedroom designs for both boys and girls. SAFETY A sturdy railing encloses the crib to prevent babies and small children from falling out, and meets current crib safety standards. Edges are rounded, and wheels are immobile to ensure the carriage remains stationary. The entire railing is removable, and enables the child to continue to use the carriage as a bed with a toddler mattress. STORAGE The rear suitcase box is used for both storage and as a changing table. A standard changing pad fits perfectly on the top.
