The Hunter House “Cenote” project draws from the raw, organic feel of Mexico’s natural swimming caves, brought to life using RicoRock cast concrete elements. Rock Formations Texas (RFT) transformed the space with textured limestone interiors, substantial 6-foot structural footings, a dramatic 35-foot bridge crossing, and vertical piers sculpted to resemble authentic tree bark. Flowing water features and a grotto-style retreat complete the scene, showcasing how RicoRock products help RFT turn imaginative concepts into fully immersive backyard experiences.

Our Arce natural stone tile is a silicified dolomite with high dolomite content (around 75%). Amongst other components, this rock includes 25% of quartz and iron oxides. Represented in a yellowish cream-colored background with brown wood-like veins crossing the surface, making this sandstone tile have the appearance of wood look flooring.
This dolomite natural stone tile is available in different surface finishes including natura and textured, as well as in different dimensions.
Natura Finish: A finish with slightly chamfered edges. The face appears honed, satiny and smooth. In the text finish, the edges are somewhat blunted with a 0.039" (1mm) radius. The face has a light and uniform satiny texture. (In Arce finish, the texture simulates tree bark, highlighting its hard parts).

Aesthetic Value: This rustic stairway and balustrade provide a dramatic focal point to the entry area of a mountain home. The burnt treads and metal oiled iron accent the stone wall and water feature under the stair.
Stair Safety: Consistent run at the walk line throughout the dancing winders offers comfortable stride on an asymmetrical stair layout. An additional hammered iron handrail provides continuous graspability despite the oversized guard rail. Lighting under each tread.
Quality: All solid white oak construction of wood components. Hand forged iron newel caps in conjunction with intricate tree bark design elements and custom twisted hammered balusters. Custom finish provided on the wood and iron components.
Technical Challenge: Complex geometry of asymmetrical stair layout, complicated tread notches into the stringer, concealed lighting chases, sand blasted and torched wood prior to application of finish, intense design consultation, and distant jobsite for turnkey project.
