This home is located in an area of Little Rock we call the upper heights by the Little Rock Country Club. What was difficult about this project, was it had been under construction for one year. The house roof was installed and the rough-in framing almost complete. On a nice spring day, I just happened to see the builder Jack Hartsell in the front yard. We have worked together on several projects and I inquired as to the status of the interior lighting design. Jack informed me the lighting plans had not been finalized. Jack gave me the architectural firm's name, Lindsey Yeary Architects in Little Rock. I have worked with the firm before but not with this architect, Carolyn Lindsey. We met and she introduced me to the owner who has a vast art collection that they rotate. In review of my lighting design portfolio with my focus on art lighting I was hired. Now the lighting design became the project priority. The builder was a month away from needing recessed can lighting housings and I had to produce the lighting plans, with lighting specifications, in two weeks. I met their schedule, lighting was ordered. To accent art, furnishings and architectural features, the recessed lighting distance placement from the wall is critical. All good lighting designers show in their lighting plans the recessed cans measurements from the walls. This helps the electricians know exactly where to place the art accent lighting. Once the house is completed, the recessed cans cannot be relocated without creating a mess and extra cost. I worked with the architect to re-layout the dining room coffered ceiling placement in order to place the lighting according to my lighting plan. All the recessed cans featured ceiling trims with a four inch diameter opening, rotated 360 degrees and a forty-five degree vertical adjustability. Recessed can fixtures must have the ability to adjust. it is the key to accent lighting. This was the typical lighting approach for all the rooms in the house with art. This project represents an increasingly popular type of project - combining 2 bedrooms into a single master suite. The house is a 1910 craftsman, with 4 bedrooms on the second floor. Typical of older homes, the master bedroom had a very small bathroom, and very little closet space. The owners decided to sacrifice an adjacent guest bedroom to create a spacious master suite. The new rooms include a large bathroom, with hers and his vanities, separate toilet room, custom tile shower and soaking tub. The extra space also allowed us to install a luxurious custom walk-in closet. Design Criteria: - Increase size and utility of closet space. - Create a large, luxury bathroom with distinctly separate hers/his spaces. At RCID, we don’t typically take on commercial projects—but when a returning client invited us to reimagine the lobby of their condo building at 225 25th Ave SW in Calgary, we couldn’t resist the opportunity. In collaboration with Crafted Edge Homes, we set out to bring a warmer, more residential feel to the common spaces of Riverscape, transforming them into areas that welcome residents home. Every floor above was painted using a unique technique to subtly draw attention to individual doors, giving each level its own personality while maintaining cohesion throughout the building.

The guest bathroom plays an important role on how your guests will perceive the architecture and style of your home. In this house we totally transformed the outdated bathroom. In collaboration with Roberto Lugo a daring designer from New York, the design process was focused on creating a contemporary space that could be elegant and comfortable. The initial renovation on this project started with the demolition of entire bathroom including doors, vanity, floor, plumbing and light fixture, toilet, tub, tile switches and outlet. For the vanity, a furniture-like cabinet style with soft close hardware. The brown stain was paired perfectly with a brown engineered quartz countertop that had specs of copper. We installed new undermount sinks and new chrome faucet. Instead of the typical matching stone 4” backsplash we opted to use the said mosaic used in the shower to tie the 2 areas together. The shower turned out beautifully. We coordinated the quarts from the vanity and used the same material on the shower seat and the top of the armrest. We used a total of 4 tile materials, a glass mosaic in the niche, floor, ceiling and outside of the shower. A linear mosaic from floor to ceiling and a large format tile installed vertically on the walls. The shower fixtures used in this shower were a ceiling-mounted rainfall shower and a handheld shower sprayer.

I am glad to present a new project, Powder room design in a modern style. This project is as simple as it is not ordinary with its solution. The powder room is the most typical, small. I used wallpaper for this project, changing the visual space - increasing it. The idea was to extend the semicircular corridor by creating additional vertical backlit niches. I also used everyone's long-loved living moss to decorate the wall so that the powder room did not look like a lifeless and dull corridor. The interior lines are clean. The interior is not overflowing with accents and flowers. Everything is concise and restrained: concrete and flowers, the latest technology and wildlife, wood and metal, yin-yang.

Note the lightning rods along the ridge. The typical window frames are green and accent windows frames are red. The entry doors are natural wood flanked by bronze finishes window frames.
