Access to the Master Bathroom is made easy from the kitchen/laundry area. Upon entering the bathroom, the roll up sink and medicine cabinet are easily accessible. There is wainscoting wall protection that is carried in from the adjacent hallway that easily blends with wainscoting height tile in the bathroom as well. The toilet is extra high comfort height and sits at 21" so that access from the wheelchair is easiest. There is a linen cabinet across from the toilet that provides for drawers for bathroom items and supplies and for linens and towels on top. The shower threshold could not be eliminated, so we extended the shower bench over 21" into the bathroom floor so that easy transfer could be made from the wheelchair onto the bench in the bathroom, and then just slide over on the bench into the shower. The handheld shower is located within easy reach of the bench with all bathing supplies conveniently located in an easily accessible niche. Although not all grab bars are shown here, there is one at the sink to help her stand up, a pull down bar near the toilet, a vertical bar to help standing up from the toilets, an angled bar from the bench to stand up and a horizontal and vertical grab bar in the shower itself. Note that we selected the basic grab bar to install over any designer grab bar for maximum safety and comfort. From the Master Bath, a hallway leads to the closet and the Master Bedroom. We widened the hallway to access the closet to 42" wide, and increased the size of the door to enter the closet from 24" to 36" and eliminated the door to improve overall access. The closet was built in and provides for all her items that were previously in a dresser in her bedroom. This way, she can go into the closet and get all items needed to dress without going back into the bedroom for undergarments.

The hardware inside the closet echoes the Oil Rub Bronze on the outside. Open the doors to reveal ample area for hanging. Several open shelves provide convenient storage for sweaters and pants. Last, the drawers supply the final touch for socks and undergarments. But that’s not quite the final touch… don’t miss that LED lighting. You can actually see in this closet! A convenient in-closet push button control enables you to command the lighting when you want it and without looking for a switch on the wall.

What do I miss most about this home? Perhaps the 36" drawer bank to the right of my sink. I designed it to hold my undergarments, work-out wear, essentially everything I would need when I got out of the shower.

The regal and majestic Camilia armoire wardrobe commands attention in any setting. The glistening mother of pearl doors are crowned with a meticulously hand-carved, gold leaf peacock for an opulent statement. Framing either side of the armoire wardrobe are the black crystal Eternity wall sconces. Also in this project is the French cabaret inspired Kiki side table. The polished hoops and delicate iris blossom tips of this luxury side table are reminiscent of the revealing frilled undergarments, the surprise high kicks and hoops in a circle accompanied by blinding splendor of cabaret life!

The attic door is located in the master closet. This limits clothing items that can be placed on the wall since the owner would have to remove every time they entered the attic. By placing shelves and drawers on the side (which does not interfere when opening the attic door), this allows more storage for shoes, purses, folded clothes, undergarments, etc, and allows the client to store the hanging on the back wall. Our client wanted to maximize the storage space by going all the way to the top of the 10' space. WOW! Lots of storage now!

We mixed regular flat shelves – perfect for storing larger items, or things you don’t need everyday – along with angled shoe shelves – which offer the ability to see exactly what you need at a glance – perfect for busy mornings. We also created a variety of hanging storage spaces, maximizing capacity by having shorter hanging areas for shirts and bottoms, alongside a longer space for dresses and formalwear. Storage drawers complete the space with room for undergarments, hosiery and socks. The entire closet storage system was finished in white with shaker drawer fronts and glass door inserts, offering a classic, crisp feel.

This Arlington, MA walk-in closet in the Boston area got a fresh look with drawers, hang bars and shelves. This customer wanted hidden shelves, so we added doors above the drawers. Our drawers are a generous size, at 30" wide and 20" deep, they will give you lots of room to store undergarments, jeans, sweaters and more. Lincoln Park is the home of one of the latest successes for a CHP client. They approached CHP with two different storage needs — and started by wrapping their walk-in closet and laundry area in delicious colors of Milky Way and White. In the laundry room, existing countertops worked well with the newly designed cabinets installed just below. A combination of hidden space behind doors, plus open shelving, provides ample storage space. The Milky Way columns were the perfect touch of spacing for the new front load washer and dryer. The design combined a pleasing look with efficient use of space. Of course, no one ever says, “No,” to a new walk-in closet.
