The exterior windows, doors, trim and siding were rebuilt in the areas where the wood rot or dry rot was extensive using the same materials and style as the original structure. The interior had been morphed into a duplex over the years, but the bones showed the truth of the original structure in the header for a single front door.

We were approached by a client to undertake a design and install home automation system project for a beautiful home on the south coast of the Black Sea. The installation incorporated the Savant control system, enabling integration of Lutron lighting with lighting circuits, keypads and blinds. This also included audio distribution to audio zones with indoor and outdoor speakers and 5.1 Dolby Surround for the living room, and video distribution with zones of 4K video. The Savant system also integrated zones of heating and cooling, an automated door entry incorporating a doorstation and touchscreens controlling the electronic door lock, along with 4K security cameras and smart alarm system. 3 bedrooms were created, along with a kitchen, living room, lobby. A sea view terrace was created to give the apartment a stunning view of the Black Sea coast, delighting the client.

The backyard in this Dunwoody, GA residence presented several challenges, including failing cinder block walls, unsafe steps, and an aging deck. These issues rendered the space largely unusable and created drainage problems, limiting both safety and functionality for the homeowners. Our team addressed these issues by removing all existing structures and undertaking a comprehensive rebuild. This involved regrading the area for proper drainage, constructing new retaining walls, and installing integrated steps for safe access throughout the yard. Multiple paver patios were also installed to create defined entertaining areas. The outcome is a safe and highly functional outdoor living space in Dunwoody. The new retaining walls provide essential structural support, the drainage system manages stormwater effectively, and the integrated patios and walkways offer inviting areas for recreation and access.

Create sufficient headroom. For most codes, 7-ft. 6-in. finished ceilings are the minimum. If that’s not what you have, you must either raise the house or lower the basement floor. The designer came back to our workroom after the installation of the family room in her client’s home of a wide expanse of drapery panels and board mounted empire swags that were designed, the computer renderings of the treatment, (on the client’s own windows in a photograph) were approved and the treatment created and installed exactly like it was designed and approved, yet the client was not satisfied with the final look. It turns out that it looked too much like a treatment from his grandmother’s home in his childhood and he did not like it after all. The client was also in love with the design and installation of the window treatment that was in his dining room and he loved the hardware that was used from Galaxy Design. The client also did not want his extensive crown moldings and columns covered up that he had spent a great deal to have installed. This was a challenge that we were happy to undertake.

Sewell Design was commissioned with the responsibility of undertaking the design of this residence for a young family who required a design that would cater for the living requirements of their family currently and for the future. Perched high on top of a hill within a rural setting, this two storey residence was designed to reflect the style of a modern country 'Queenslander' that was capable of encompassing all of the extensive rural landscape views on offer. Symmetrically balanced wall and window proportions, large articulated verandah areas and painted timber trims contribute to the style and detailing of the design. An octagonal 'rotunda' and 'turret' type roof extension of the verandah at the north east corner of the residence provides an outdoor entertaining area for the enjoyment of the extensive views on offer and provides direct sunlight access. A large family home consisting of 5 bedrooms each with walk in robe, guest bedroom with own ensuite, office, formal lounge, kitchen, dining and main living area, theatre room and rumpus room, this residence has all the space needed for the future needs of the occupants.

These homeowners were anxiously ready to remodel their dated 80’s kitchen and reached out to Renovisions to handle the transformation. In this new undertaking we met to discuss plans to brighten the dark room with custom painted white inset cabinets, adding more functional storage, better task lighting and GE Monogram appliances, new hardwood flooring throughout and creating a better flow into the adjacent family room. In order to open up the space, Renovisions suggested creating an angle at the peninsula. Continuing with this approach we replaced the rear door with a new one-light door that swings out instead of in to accommodate new bar stools and a better flow of traffic in and out to the deck outside. Silestone’s quartz countertops in ‘Merope’ were the perfect choice adding a nice contrast yet truly durable and low maintenance. Creating a beautifully unique subway tile niche in linen color at cooktop area and backsplash added an elegant touch to the overall look and homeowners were thrilled with this refreshing look after the Renovision. The prime location of this home coupled with the fact that the Clients parents had owned the same provided the incentive to undertake a whole house remodel. A portion of the existing oversized utility room was incorporated into the kitchen space to provide the necessary footprint for the new kitchen.
