The one hundred and seventy foot long wall displays art and leads you to the living room- where views of the mountains unfold. As environmentalists and political activists, the owners needed a home that could host fundraisers and meetings- the large open living room functions as this space.

A majestic addition to a modest cape home
Tucked into a tree-lined street in Rockland County, this once-modest gambrel cape was reimagined to meet the evolving needs of a growing family while preserving its familiar charm. The transformation includes a new two-car garage with a gambrel-roofed addition above, a welcoming front porch, and a complete interior and exterior renovation. Together, these elements bring a new sense of balance, presence, and grace — a modern evolution of classic suburban form.
Inside, walls were opened and rooms reconnected to invite light and ease of movement. The kitchen, once small and uninviting, now anchors the first floor — a warm and generous hub where family life unfolds from morning to night. Living, dining, and work spaces flow naturally, supporting both connection and quiet.
Above the new garage, a serene primary suite offers retreat and rhythm, gently elevated above the hum of daily life. With its expanded front porch, refined roofline, and carefully layered materials, the home feels renewed yet rooted — a timeless composition of family, comfort, and place.

Step into a space that seamlessly blends functional organization, relaxation, and a touch of fun. The renovation journey unfolded with a meticulous focus on the home's architecture, the client's design preferences, and the need for a practical yet stylish family environment.
The primary bathroom takes center stage in promoting relaxation, featuring a spa-like ambiance with soothing colors, heated floors, a beautiful soaking tub, and gentle under-counter lighting creating a tranquil atmosphere. A cleverly integrated cabinet space is also available, providing a discreet storage solution for the less aesthetically pleasing litter box while ensuring easy access for our feline friends.
In the kitchen, attention to detail shines through with a stunning wood-trimmed vent hood and wooden pulls that punctuate the Indigo Blue cabinets, introducing natural elements and a touch of warmth. Ample storage was a crucial requirement for this kitchen. Featuring expansive pull-out drawers, a concealed lazy Susan, impressive spice storage, and a discreet power source for the cordless vacuum, every detail has been considered for optimal functionality.
Connected to the kitchen, you'll discover a dining area designed for versatility. This multipurpose zone seamlessly integrates wine storage, pantry space, a dedicated baking center, cocktail preparation area, and a convenient coffee zone.
The main level's powder room pays homage to the homeowners' roots, boasting a vibrant wallpaper by Chasing Paper that adds a playful touch.
The harmonious blend of aesthetics and functionality continues with an additional mixed-use space that serves as a delightful getaway, complete with outdoor access and ample countertop space for both utility and enjoyment. This home is a testament to the artful fusion of design, comfort, and entertainment.

Ready for life to unfold! This busy family uses the entire main floor. Having good sitelines to the living spaces from the kitchen was important. We created a better flow for working in the kitchen, and for using the rest of the great room. We relocated the backyard access with double sliding doors to be out of the way of the main thoroughfare.

To kick off the new year, Our client installed a new Andersen Contemporary 3 Panel Folding Outswing Door on their deck. In the before photo, the client could only access the deck through one door. Now, with the new folding door, they can unfold each panel.

It was important to convey ease and comfort from the moment a guest entered the home. We added a 1940s Persian runner to the entry way along with a rustic bench. Both draw the guest in, providing immediate coziness as well as visual interest.

When planning and designing a dream house there is so much time, money and effort put into it. The effort and planning are not overlooked when the final product is complete. This house below is incredible down to the tiniest details.
These clients came to Ancient Elements Stoneworks in the beginning stages of designing their house, during this time they were able to meet with the trained experts about color tones, different edge details, and look at several types of materials. From there the client’s dreams start to unfold.
It started in the kitchen where they did a granite called Cinderella Dream to pull in the colors of the beautiful Wyoming landscape that surround their house, with a dark blue gray cabinet, light colored stacked stone, and burnt reddish orange as the wall color. When described it may sound like a lot of different colors but when it is all put together it becomes a kitchen that belongs in a magazine.

This harmonious fusion of materials creates an ambiance of timeless elegance, elevating the aesthetic appeal of any kitchen space. The luxurious look of the dolomite, reminiscent of the finest marble, adds a touch of opulence, while the durability and contemporary charm of quartz ensure a practical yet stylish solution for daily culinary endeavors.
In the master bathroom, the design narrative continues with the inclusion of Venetian Calacatta honed marble. This stunning material, paired with an eye-catching art deco natural pebble stone, crafts an environment that is as unique and individual as its inhabitant. The intricate patterns and textures of the marble and pebble stones converge to form a symphony of elegance and sophistication, transforming the bathroom into a personal sanctuary of tranquility and refinement.

Nestled within the exclusive Bison Bluff subdivision of Promontory, this stunning 5,166-square-foot residence epitomizes luxury mountain living. Offering breathtaking mountain views and unparalleled privacy, this meticulously designed home is a sanctuary of elegance and tranquility
The expansive, open floor plan is an entertainer's dream, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living. The great room, with its soaring high ceilings and commanding stone fireplace, serves as the heart of the home, where gatherings naturally unfold in a space bathed in natural light. The main level master suite is a private retreat, designed with the utmost attention to detail, while the loft office provides a serene environment for work or reflection, framed by panoramic views.
Descending to the lower level, you’ll find two additional bedrooms, each thoughtfully designed to offer comfort and privacy. A board-formed concrete wine wall welcomes guests into a private and modern speakeasy, replete with a copper bar, golf simulator, and gathering space. The home also features versatile bonus rooms and ample storage, adding to its practicality and appeal.
Outdoors, the back deck serves as a peaceful haven, offering shade from the sun and a seamless connection to the surrounding natural beauty. The marriage of natural wood and stone elements between the indoor and outdoor spaces creates a grounding, harmonious aesthetic that invites relaxation.
This residence is perfectly positioned just a short drive from Promontory’s world-class amenities, including the beach club, tubing hill, pool, spa, gym, tennis courts, and multiple clubhouses. For those seeking even more entertainment, The Shed offers indoor basketball, bowling, and a 53-seat theater, while the kids’ cabin and ice skating rink provide endless fun for all ages.

The client discovered a large but passed-over property overlooking a beautiful part of Canyon Lake. When we hiked down the overgrown hillside and came to a small clearing with a glimpse of the lake, all of the potential of the site began to unfold, and the client shouted “This is it!”
We designed the house to fit the hillside on three levels, with the main-level rooms opening to loggias that overlook a pool terrace with stunning views of the lake.
The house serves as a retreat for a large family and a place to entertain business associates.
The client provided antique mantels, flooring and other materials that add a patina of well-worn age to the home.

This residence is located on the banks of the Snake River. Drawing inspiration from the adjacent braided river channels, the precise layout form unique relationships to the site from each room, as well as dynamic views and spatial experiences. The sequence of interior spaces gradually unfolds to reveal views of the pond, river and mountains beyond. The skewed geometry creates shifting views between interior spaces and levels.
A three-story stair atrium brings light into the core of the house, gracefully connects floor levels, and creates a transition from the public to private zones of the house. The volume of the house cantilevers to cover an exterior dining area and spans to frame the entrance into the house and the river beyond. The exterior rain screen on the clean modern forms creates continuity with the surrounding cottonwood forest.

This residence embraces a light, open, and contemporary aesthetic, defined by warmth, simplicity, and a sense of effortless sophistication. A soft, neutral palette is layered with natural materials, subtle textures, and thoughtfully considered accents, creating an interior that feels fresh, inviting, and refined. The home's modern exterior transitions seamlessly into bright, airy interiors, where clean lines, generous natural light, and carefully selected furnishings create a sense of openness and calm. Intentional spatial planning, understated lighting, and a balance of form and function allow each space to feel cohesive, comfortable, and elevated while remaining warm and approachable.
Designed with a modern young family in mind, the home balances contemporary refinement with the ease and energy of everyday life. Open, flexible spaces encourage connection, creativity, and togetherness, while a natural relationship between the interior and exterior creates a seamless flow throughout the home. Thoughtful transitions between shared living areas and outdoor spaces invite family gatherings, quiet moments, and everyday activities to unfold naturally. The result is a home that feels bright, welcoming, and timeless—designed to support connection, comfort, and the evolving rhythms of family life.

Seamlessly designed with integrated finger pulls for a sleek aesthetic, the island becomes a focal point of sophistication. Starting from the far left, a world of convenience unfolds behind the discreet white oak doors, revealing both a regular fridge and a keg fridge. Adjacent to this concealed haven, two thoughtfully designed storage drawers cater to your glassware and accessory needs.
Beneath the sink, a well-organized garbage bin system is paired with a seamlessly panelled dishwasher, enhancing the functionality of your space. Finally, on the far right, a panelled beverage fridge with a clear glass panel stands as the crowning jewel, inviting you to showcase your selection in style.

On entering, the house unfolds onto a tranquil corridor washed in muted tones, instantly stimulating calmventing the threshold from the mere functional into the expressive. The entryway sets the tone for what is to come, offering the first hint of the artistic identity of the owners and the deliberately spare interiors. The entryway itself becomes a gallery of sorts, where the thoughtfully placed artworks beckon one to pause and muse.

The house suffered from years of deferred maintenance and neglect when David Moulton AIA began an interior redesign and whole-house overhaul. Saved were the glorious, soaring clear redwood ceilings, the proportions, and most of the interior walls. Two large windows replaced an entertainment unit and fireplace that stood in the way of the view, thus creating the large, expansive stretch of windows that now take full advantage of the ocean and forest views. Added window seats provide cozy places to watch the scene unfold. A television lifts out of the central cabinet for optimal television viewing with no detraction of the views beyond. New Brazilian cherry floors throughout replaced dated vinyl, parquet and carpet. Removing channel walls on the stairway allowed space to lengthen the lower stair treads into a delightful waterfall of Brazilian hardwood, thereby creating visual interest and greater connection between the natural landscape and upper and lower floors.
