This 1922 home’s kitchen was due for a functional and aesthetic uplift. The homeowner was unhappy with the layout, so a new layout was designed to streamline usage for modern day living. A chimney that was no longer used was removed in order to create a more open space. The design was created in order to create a warm and inviting space, as well as relate to the home’s traditional styling – old ranch base trim and casing where replaced to match the old existing trim in the rest of the home, and the hardwood floors were installed to match what was in the living and dining room in the front of the house. Traditional light fixtures and handmade tiles round out the timeless details in the renovation. Overall, a neutral color palette allows the wood grain in the cabinetry and the beautiful colors and pattern in the new quartz countertops to shine. The homeowners gained much more usable storage – a large pantry, and cabinet function like the blind corner cabinet shelving system.

Before and after photos of the new guest bathroom and master vanity. The clients were unhappy with the original configuration of their guest bathroom. We were able to design a much more functional guest bathroom and give them a new master bathroom vanity as well. Tile flooring, new toilet, linen closet moved, remove lighting box and install new wall mount lighting.

Accents of the South, Interiors called me and asked me to help them renovate of a 2 house complex that had been hit by a tornado. The owners had relocated a small cabin and had connected them with a large deck before hiring us and were unhappy with the contractor's solution, and asked us to correct and improve upon it making a house perfect for large multi-family living with kids, grandkids, and friends who visit.

"Transitional" -- what exactly does this term mean? Especially, when describing interior design. Transitional style design, usually means that you have characteristics of both modern and traditional in your space. You kind of fall in that even middle ground between both styles.
For this dining room, our client was just that. However, she wasn't aware of it. She was trying to pair multiple traditional elements together, but it left her feeling unhappy. The space was feeling dark, filled with heavy furniture and nothing was popping or even uplifting. She knew she liked to mix patterns and textures, but was also unsure of how to achieve that.
As I looked around her home, I realized that their art collection definitely leaned more on the modern and colorful side of the spectrum. This was a big indicator to me, she wasn't fully traditional at all, she was more transitional! That was my que, and we got to work and this is the result.

The Master Bathroom was the only room in this lovely Fredericksburg home that needed updating. As the second owners of this property, our clients were unhappy with the contractor grade selections that the original homeowners made in this room. They came to us with a few requests-- they wanted to expand the shower and remove an awkward column between the vanities as well as replace the tile in all the areas.
We used Cambria Somerset quartz on the counters because it harmonized nicely with the colors in the mosaic tile accent used in the shower and on the face of the soaking tub. We chose the same Happy Floors Eternity tile in Gold but used various sizes for the floor and in the shower and on the tub deck, which contributed to the relaxing, spa-like atmosphere of the space. A rich and warm earth tone for the walls (Benjamin Moore’s Rich Clay Brown) was the final element in creating a beautiful Master Bathroom to complete an already lovely home.

These empty-nesters were unhappy with their dysfunctional kitchen and had a big vision for the changes. Creating an open floorplan with sightlines and a highly functional/beautiful kitchen with lots of island seating was the priority. We designed custom low-back swivel stools so that they weren’t visible over the counter. The counter stools and chairs around the round table were sight-unseen so the clients really had to trust that these were going to come together and work beautifully in their space… and they did! We went with a classic white cabinet and warmer tones in the stools and the gorgeous quartzite countertops.

This Playa Del Rey, CA. design / build project began after our client had a terrible flood ruin her kitchen. In truth, she had been unhappy with her galley kitchen prior to the flood. She felt it was dark and deep with poor air conditioning circulating through it. She enjoys entertaining and hosting dinner parties and felt that this was the perfect opportunity to reimagine her galley kitchen into a space that would reflect her lifestyle. Since this is a condominium, we decided the best way to open up the floorplan was to wrap the counter around the wall into the dining area and make the peninsula the same height as the work surface. The result is an open kitchen with extensive counter space. Keeping it light and bright was important but she also wanted some texture and color too. The stacked stone backsplash has slivers of glass that reflect the light. Her vineyard palette was tied into the backsplash and accented by the painted walls. The floating glass shelves are highlighted with LED lights on a dimmer switch. We were able to space plan to incorporate her wine rack into the peninsula. We reconfigured the HVAC vent so more air circulated into the far end of the kitchen and added a ceiling fan. This project also included replacing the carpet and 12X12 beige tile with some “wood look” porcelain tile throughout the first floor. Since the powder room was receiving new flooring our client decided to add the powder room project which included giving it a deep plum paint job and a new chocolate cherry vanity. The white quartz counter and crystal hardware balance the dark hues in the wall and vanity.

When our clients moved in to their new home, they were particularly unhappy with their kitchen. The space was dull and dated, and did not reflect the lifestyle and personality of them and their two girls.
Pine Tree Lane's interior design and fit-out teams saw this project as a challenge and good learning opportunity, specifically, due to the 3-week time crunch.
The kitchen cabinetry features our classic recessed panel design with brass handles.
Our clients wanted a specific color palette for their kitchen and we were able to offer them exactly that. With our wide selection of paint options, they found the best combination to complement their space.
Pine Tree Lane successfully delivered a beautiful, bright and functional new kitchen to our clients, which has now become "the most happy space" in their new home.

The client was unhappy with her existing oak cabinet exteriors that were restained a number of years ago. Aside from the door style being outdated, the colour was washing/wearing off.
The client chose to update the kitchen by refacing the upper cabinets in Stain White (solid colour) veneer and using Shaker style doors. The lower cabinets were refaced in Cherry veneer in a Milano stain with the same Shaker door. Drawer fronts are solid Cherry slab style. We also installed new Amerock 5 inch Brushed Nickel handles and Blum SoftClose hinges were used throughout.
To increase the storage efficiency we added 8 new pot drawers to the lower cabinets left and right of the stove, and to the left of sink area. Finally, to add more functionality to the existing kitchen layout, a new 48 inch tall bookcase cabinet was added to replace the existing glass curio display case to the left of the sink.
LiveWell Outdoors
The clients were unhappy with their existing backyard space as it was not very usable. We removed all the concrete around the back and side of house. The patio was constructed using Outdoor Living by Belgard Rustic slab in Danville blend with a Dublin rectangle border in Sable blend. The retaining walls used Belgard Antique quarry in SIlex color with Belgard Bullnose in Sable blend for the step treads. Belgard Antique pillar in Silex blend completed the hardscapes. LED low voltage step / wall lights were installed and beds were prepped.

Bathroom Design and Installation in Pinner, Middlesex
This was an amazing overhaul of an existing bathroom in Pinner, Middlesex. We had a client come to us regards to a new bathroom project. The client had only had his bathroom done about 4 years but was so unhappy with the finish, layout and workmanship. So we had a very in depth conversation about what was needed to happen to make this the dream bathroom, himself and his wife had dreamed of. Mr Cook made it quite clear what he expected from myself and my team and together we worked hard to come up with the perfect solution.
Mint Kitchen Group
The owners of this recently converted warehouse were unhappy with their initial kitchen design and enlisted the team at Mint Kitchen Group to transform what was once a small, dark space into a bright and functional kitchen suitable for family living. The Mint Kitchen Group overcame structural design obstacles to create a luxurious, open and inviting kitchen design.
Sleek and monochromatic design features create a bright and bold kitchen space. The black gloss splashback adds drama to this design and is mirrored in the black gloss contrast against the square edged, white stone island benchtop. The use of Laminex CrystalGloss in Alaskan for the overhead lift cupboards create a mirror-finish effect and add an illusion of extra space.
Modern lighting elements add a touch of luxury to this monochromatic design. Pendant lighting above the island bench top keep this kitchen on trend, and the recessed lighting along the bulkhead and alongside the splashback add depth and brightness to complement the black gloss and stainless steel kitchen finishes.
This sleek kitchen design was a finalist in the 2012 Kitchen and Bathroom Designer Institute (KBDI) Awards.

The clients, a young professional couple had lived with this bathroom in their townhome for 6 years. They finally could not take it any longer. The designer was tasked with turning this ugly duckling into a beautiful swan without relocating walls, doors, fittings, or fixtures in this principal bathroom. The client wish list included, better storage, improved lighting, replacing the tub with a shower, and creating a sparkling personality for this uninspired space using any color way except white.
The designer began the transformation with the wall tile. Large format rectangular tiles were installed floor to ceiling on the vanity wall and continued behind the toilet and into the shower. The soft variation in tile pattern is very soothing and added to the Zen feeling of the room. One partner is an avid gardener and wanted to bring natural colors into the space. The same tile is used on the floor in a matte finish for slip resistance and in a 2” mosaic of the same tile is used on the shower floor. A lighted tile recess was created across the entire back wall of the shower beautifully illuminating the wall. Recycled glass tiles used in the niche represent the color and shape of leaves. A single glass panel was used in place of a traditional shower door.
Continuing the serene colorway of the bath, natural rift cut white oak was chosen for the vanity and the floating shelves above the toilet. A white quartz for the countertop, has a small reflective pattern like the polished chrome of the fittings and hardware. Natural curved shapes are repeated in the arch of the faucet, the hardware, the front of the toilet and shower column. The rectangular shape of the tile is repeated in the drawer fronts of the cabinets, the sink, the medicine cabinet, and the floating shelves.
The shower column was selected to maintain the simple lines of the fittings while providing a temperature, pressure balance shower experience with a multi-function main shower head and handheld head. The dual flush toilet and low flow shower are a water saving consideration. The floating shelves provide decorative and functional storage. The asymmetric design of the medicine cabinet allows for a full view in the mirror with the added function of a tri view mirror when open. Built in LED lighting is controllable from 2500K to 4000K. The interior of the medicine cabinet is also mirrored and electrified to keep the countertop clear of necessities. Additional lighting is provided with recessed LED fixtures for the vanity area as well as in the shower. A motion sensor light installed under the vanity illuminates the room with a soft glow at night.
The transformation is now complete. No longer an ugly duckling and source of unhappiness, the new bathroom provides a much-needed respite from the couples’ busy lives. It has created a retreat to recharge and replenish, two very important components of wellness.

The wife travels often for business and loves to cook with her daughter when at home. She was desperately unhappy with the old kitchen. The clients report the new design is an “incredibly spacious masterpiece that brings a whole new purpose and meaning to our kitchen. We now have FOUR countertop workspaces when we previously had one cramped and tiny one. We love the clean and simple design, with neutrals and pops of color.”

2011 NARI CAPITAL COTY HONORABLE MENTION AWARD WINNER
Since moving into their home 10 years ago, the lady of the house has been unhappy with her kitchen, dining room and entryway. The layout wasn’t efficient and the formal dining room was rarely used. With two children and a dog, a mud room made more sense for their lifestyle.
To make best use of the space, the design team at Michael Nash Design, Build & Homes removed the dining room altogether. Four feet of that space went to the kitchen to make it more spacious and functional. The rest went to creating a mud room for the kids with locker style storage.
The highlight of the renovation is, however, the new kitchen. Featuring a large center island with distressed curved wood countertop, it provides an anchor around which the rest of the room flows. Stark white cabinets run along two walls, providing significant kitchen storage, as well as several display cabinets for the homeowner’s fine china.
A white farmer’s sink sits below a large window looking out over the backyard and the counters are topped with complementary stone counter and tile backsplash. Stainless steel appliances include a gas cooktop with custom wood hood that matches the cabinets. Matching crown molding tops the flush-to-the-ceiling cabinets.
In addition to natural light from the windows, the kitchen features pendant lights over the island, under-cabinet lighting and LED lights. The added lighting along with the white cabinets make the room look even more spacious.
Being a gourmet cook, the homeowner enjoys her time in kitchen while the mud room makes her daily chores a lot simpler.
