Green and beige elements create a fresh feeling in this bedroom. Since designer understands kids needs much space for moving, bed is bulit on the particular cabinets, which provides lots of room for saving toys.

When the homeowners decided to move from San Francisco to the Central Coast, they were looking for a more relaxed lifestyle, a unique place to call their own, and an environment conducive to raising their young children. They found it all in San Luis Obispo. They had owned a house here in SLO for several years that they had used as a rental. As the homeowners own and run a contracting business and relocation was not impossible, they decided to move their business and make this SLO rental into their dream home. As a rental, the house was in a bare-bones condition. The kitchen had old white cabinets, boring white tile counters, and a horrendous vinyl tile floor. Not only was the kitchen out-of-date and old-fashioned, it was also pretty worn out. The tiles were cracking and the grout was stained, the cabinet doors were sagging, and the appliances were conflicting (ie: you could not open the stove and dishwasher at the same time). To top it all off, the kitchen was just too small for the custom home the homeowners wanted to create. Thus enters San Luis Kitchen. At the beginning of their quest to remodel, the homeowners visited San Luis Kitchen’s showroom and fell in love with our Tuscan Grotto display. They sat down with our designers and together we worked out the scope of the project, the budget for cabinetry and how that fit into their overall budget, and then we worked on the new design for the home starting with the kitchen. As the homeowners felt the kitchen was cramped, it was decided to expand by moving the window wall out onto the existing porch. Besides the extra space gained, moving the wall brought the kitchen window out from under the porch roof – increasing the natural light available in the space. (It really helps when the homeowner both understands building and can do his own contracting and construction.) A new arched window and stone clad wall now highlights the end of the kitchen. As we gained wall space, we were able to move the range and add a plaster hood, creating a focal nice focal point for the kitchen. The other long wall now houses a Sub-Zero refrigerator and lots of counter workspace. Then we completed the kitchen by adding a wrap-around wet bar extending into the old dining space. We included a pull-out pantry unit with open shelves above it, wine cubbies, a cabinet for glassware recessed into the wall, under-counter refrigerator drawers, sink base and trash cabinet, along with a decorative bookcase cabinet and bar seating. Lots of function in this corner of the kitchen; a bar for entertaining and a snack station for the kids. After the kitchen design was finalized and ordered, the homeowners turned their attention to the rest of the house. They asked San Luis Kitchen to help with their master suite, a guest bath, their home control center (essentially a deck tucked under the main staircase) and finally their laundry room. They added custom concrete floors, unique fiber optic lighting, large picture windows, and much more. There is now an outdoor kitchen complete with pizza oven, an outdoor shower and exquisite garden. Gorgeous master bedroom has an amazingly beautiful view and interior designer and client agreed if you want a TV it has to be hidden with a TV lift cabinet system. There are a few pictures of not only the bed but also the view. This is one of our favorite examples of foot of the bed use to hide the TV. The TV is an 55 inch OLED LG flat screen. Their is a compartment that also hides the BluRay and cable box. The operation of the lift kit, TV, cable box, Blue Ray is controlled by a single Universal remote. Push one button and TV, electronics turn on and rise at the same time. Client also uses Apple TV, Roku and their smart TV together to maximize viewing pleasure. The furniture design made by Cabinet Tronix is called the Oceanaire. This one in particular has a very high end piano grade white lacquer finish. This is more expensive however the clients expectations were thankfully exceeded. Cabinet Tronix who has specialized in high end furniture in combination with motorized remote controlled pop up lift furniture since 2002. These systems are made to order based on clients needs versus having units ready to pick from. This type hand holding makes it so the client can have any design, the TV size they want and understand the difference of what their decisions reflect the proportions of the furniture and its size. Have a system particularly at the foot of the bed brings on a few instant situations. The client here wanted a component section to hold the DVD player. Now, I suggested against it as the furniture would be taller than the bed... however that is what he wanted. Most do other suggested ideas I propose with the DVD player so the furniture can be up to 4.5 inches lower. Anyways, loved this project and client was so kind to provide the pictures. These systems are popular in all aspects of homes such as room dividers, in great rooms, side of fire places, center of the room out side by itself and under verandas. We worked with a local architect to create detailed plans and secured all necessary permits to ensure compliance with local building codes. Site preparation involved demolishing an existing carport, grading, and excavation to prepare the building pad for the new foundation. This step was essential to ensure a stable base for the construction. Our team then focused on structural framing, tying the new addition to the existing home. We ensured that the new structure matched the current architectural style for a seamless blend. The addition was then roofed and sheathed to provide a sturdy and weatherproof exterior. Next, we addressed the electrical work, installing new circuits for lighting, HVAC, and receptacles, and adding smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to meet safety standards. A licensed journeyman electrician performed the electrical service to ensure high-quality and compliant installations. Insulation and drywall installation followed. We installed batt insulation to meet or exceed Michigan Energy Code requirements. The interior surfaces were finished with drywall, taping, mudding, sanding, and priming to prepare for painting. Baseboard molding and trim around doors and windows added the finishing touches. Exterior features were also important. We framed and installed new windows and a front entry door and added a front eyebrow vent feature to match the existing structure. The project’s starting point was to understand the building’s original post and beam structure and to use that internal logic to formulate a sympathetic remodel. With an emphasis on the upper back unit, the owner’s private residence within this recently purchased Edward Killingsworth triplex, the first order of business was to strip the excess out and to return the complex to something that resembled the original. With a limited budget, the tact was to restore where possible, and to insert where needed, but always with a sympathetic eye. The kitchen quickly became the primary focus and it was soon realized that by removing the division between the existing galley and family room that the essence of the structural system could be revealed. Once opened the datum of the layered beams was adhered to with the kitchen reinforcing this overhead water line. The primary internal wall was then highlighted with a new wood veneer with the refrigerator recessed (borrowing a bit of space from the master closet) and the existing heater chromed.

Our home-owning clients sought to infuse their living space with natural light. Sunspace Design—renowned for crafting exquisite custom skylights and glass structures—delivered a stunning solution. This project showcases our ability to seamlessly integrate bespoke glass construction into any project. The centerpiece of this transformation is a meticulously crafted 10’ x 17’ double-hip skylight framed in rich mahogany and clad in elegant cold rolled copper. The skylight’s design was engineered in-house and pre-assembled in our workshop to ensure a perfect fit while minimizing installation time. Utilizing high-performance Solarban 70 argon gas-filled insulated glass, the Sunspace team achieved exceptional thermal performance and optimal light transmission to provide a comfortable and luminous environment. We further enhanced the home’s existing Velux skylights with custom copper cladding to ensure a cohesive aesthetic. The copper exterior adds a touch of timeless elegance while the insulated glass secures year-round comfort. As always, we believe in the value of collaboration. This project demonstrates that value. These clients were looking for a designer/builder that would handle everything from concept to completion, providing peace of mind for themselves! “Working alongside Renovisions was a pleasant experience” said our clients as we cared to understand their vision, needs, wants and desires, enabling us to execute their projects successfully and professionally. During the design phase, our well-organized staff listened to the client’s requests and combined several design elements that produced a beautiful, calming and transitional feel to the new kitchen space. During the remodel phase, the clients had these top 5 items on the list of enhancements: * High- functioning ventilation to clear as much odors as possible (When we first met with the clients, they stated, “Something very fishy was going on in their outdated kitchen. Although they enjoyed cooking fish dinners, they fishy odors often annoyed them)! Renovisions designed and installed a wood hood in matching light gray painted finish with a hood liner that provided the maximum ventilation, while staying within the proper building code of a 350cfm air exchange, without having to add a make -up air system which would have added to the cost of the project. *Better functioning ‘Spinner Storage’ for interior storage. The clients loved them in their old kitchen; we furnished and installed new and better-quality spinners storage units. *A unique opening between the kitchen and family room that allowed homeowners to pass meals through as they enjoyed a movie from the family room. *A Smart-Divide porcelain enamel sink with stainless steel grids allow plenty of room for dirty dishes, pots and pans as well as separate areas to prep and wash dishes as needed. * Anti-glare finishes were a must have for these clients; kitchen cabinetry in a matte gray neutral finish, faucet and cabinet hardware in a matte black finish and stunning Cambria quartz countertops in a suede finish set the stage. At completion phase, homeowners were ensured that they were receiving high-quality products, style and craftmanship in the most efficient time frame and were thrilled with look of their new kitchen that also provided plenty of prep, entertaining and seating space.
