Our goal with this project was to combine a cramped kitchen and small dining room into an airy, open kitchen which serves many functions for this busy couple with young children. A central island provides plenty of space for food prep, school projects as well as everyday family dinners. We rearranged the large front room to create both an intimate conversation area and a more formal dining area. As the main floor lacked a powder room and closet for coats and boots, we annexed an unused portion of the house's airshaft to create both. The addition also features a skylight which along with the enlarged rear window, floods the new kitchen with sunshine. The richly cool palette of grays and white offers a soothing backdrop in what has become the hub of this family's colorful life...

An unused attic has become a light, bright and peaceful living space. A raised dormer allowed for the addition of a living room, bathroom and two bedrooms. This creative family embraced the idea of reusing some of the bones from the house in shelving, barn doors and special finishes.

A bright, modern, and fully functional ADU designed to maximize every square foot. This project features an open living space, full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, bathroom, in-unit stacked washer and dryer, mini-split heating and cooling, durable wood-look flooring, and plenty of natural light. A great example of how unused backyard space can be transformed into a comfortable, independent living space—perfect for family, guests, or rental income.

The new design for this ensuite bathroom includes an alcove walk-in shower that makes use of the unused space in the original bathroom design. The new design features a walk-in shower and bathroom floor with glazed porcelain tile, and a white double sink vanity with a quartz countertop.

A remodel is the perfect time to have a space designed for your unique needs and tastes. In this master bath, the homeowners wanted to remove an unused tub to expand the vanity for more storage. We took a dark dated kitchen and turned it into a modern bright space that makes cooking at home a pleasure again. While we didn’t change the layout, we were able to get additional space by adding a dry bar and accessible lower corner cabinets, which were previously unusable. The lower oak laminate cabinets help to ground the space and compliment to upper matte white cabinets. We used gold/brass and green accents throughout which coordinate well with the hardwood floors and the new cabinetry. We extended the peninsula countertop to create a functional breakfast bar and work space. By adding LED under-cabinet lights, we brightened up the work space. And the addition of the 2 modern Japanese green glass pendants with its soothing design creates a calm zen atmosphere. We also updated the look of the nearly living room fireplace by matching the mantle to the countertops and the hearth to the backsplash to tie into the look helping to visually bring the rooms together. Overall it’s now fresh, light and airy. Fully transformed.

Kitchen renovation included filling in an unused doorway to add extra pantry cabinets flanking the fridge. Uppers go to the ceiling adding extra storage plus adding a small peninsula with eating bar. Cabinets are glossy white flat panel with no visible handles, instead they have push-to-open hidden hardware for a crisp clean look. Quartz counter tops, multi-shade hexagonal glass mosaic back splash and stainless steel appliances add some sparkle and shine to this to this small, but now efficient kitchen.

Magnificent Basement Remodel in Chantilly VA that includes a movie theater, wine cellar, full bar, exercise room, full bedroom and bath, a powder room, and a big gaming and entertainment space. Now family has a big bar space with mahogany cabinetry, large-scale porcelain tile with a ledgestone wrapping , lots of space for bar seating, lots of glass cabinets for liquor and china display and magnificent lighting. The Guest bedroom suite with a bathroom has linear tiles and vertical glass tile accents that spruced up this bathroom. Gaming and conversation area with built-ins and wainscoting, give an upscale look to this magnificent basement. Also built just outside of exercise room, is a new powder room area. We used new custom beveled glass doors and interior doors. A 6’x8’ wine cellar was built with a custom glass door just few steps away from this stunning bar space. Behind the staircase we have implement a full equipped movie theater room furnished with state of art AV system, surround sound, big screen and a lot more. Our biggest goal for this space was to carefully ( yet softly) coordinate all color schemes to achieve a very airy, open and welcoming entertainment space. By creating two tray ceilings and recess lighting we have uplifted the unused corner of this basement. This has become the jewel of the neighborhood”, she said.

Andrew Mikhael of Andrew Mikhael Architect and Artistic Tile Design Associate Susan Jarblum collaborated on this beautiful new addition to a Milburn, NJ residence. The successful re-imagining of an unused side porch into a ground floor bath created the perfect canvas for the application of Artistic Tile's stunning Ferrara marble in a stylish Chevron. The marble runs across the floor and back wall of the shower while Quemere Liquid Glaze 3x6 handmade ceramic tiles wrap the walls and shower ceiling. What a beautiful project!

Laundry Room Cabinets - We recently had a client come to us wanting to add work space for laundry and upper cabinets for storage to her basement laundry space. Other contractors had been out to her home to look at the space and but no one wanted to do the job due to the complexity of the project. The challenge was due to a maze of plumbing and water valves that made the space unusable and the room an eyesore. The upstairs bathroom (which serves all 5 bedrooms) was small, difficult to use and poorly laid out. To preserve the original layout of the house, we opted to reconfigure within the existing footprint and remove an unused utility chimney that divided the sink and tub. We reorganized the bathroom to fit two sinks in a period style cabinet, which was a must for this busy household. The existing clawfoot tub was sand-blasted and re-enameled before being placed in front of the window. With the new configuration, we were able to successfully maintain the small footprint and historic character of the bath.
