This homeowner lived on a very prominent golf course and wanted to feel like he was on the putting green of the 9th hole while standing at his family room window. The existing layout of the home had the garage enjoying that view with the outdated dining room, family room and kitchen further back on the lot. We completely demoed the garage and a section of the home, allowing us to design and build with that view in mind. The completed project has the family room at the back of the home with a gorgeous view of the golf course from two large curved bay windows. A new fireplace with custom cabinetry and shelf niches and coffered high ceilings makes this room a treasure. The new kitchen boasts of white painted cabinetry, an island with wood top and a 6 burner Wolf cooktop with a custom hood, white tile with multiple trim details and a pot filler faucet. A Butler’s Pantry was added for entertaining complete with beautiful white painted cabinetry with glass upper cabinets, marble countertops and a prep sink and faucet. We converted an unused dining room into a custom, high-end home office with beautiful site- built mahogany bookcases to showcase the homeowners book collections. To complete this renovation, we added a “friends” entry and a mudroom for improved access and functionality. The transformation is not only efficient but aesthetically pleasing to the eye and exceeded the homeowner’s expectations to enjoy their view of the 9th hole.

This couple wanted to replace their suburban landscape that had an unused pool and concrete decking with a lush, woodsy landscape and a babbling brook reminiscent of their home in Lake Tahoe. The fire pit surrounded by boulders and comfy Adirondack chairs makes them feel like they are camping in thevcomfort of their back yard. The many trees and plants were chosen for four season interest and their attraction to birds and butterflies.

A basement addition of a bedroom and bathroom turns unused space into a cozy living area. The bedroom is designed for comfort with added light and safety features, while the bathroom includes modern fixtures and durable materials. Both spaces are functional, inviting, and blend seamlessly with the rest of the home.

This is a first floor remodel of a single family home in Castle Pines Colorado. Homeowner resides in Cave Creek Arizona and this was there summer home. We were able to accomplish this remodel over the winter months while the homeowner was away limiting the headache of living through a construction zone. As you can see we eliminated an unused dining space and replaced that with a walk in pantry and overall larger kitchen footprint. Then we removed the kneewall in the great room and replaced with railings and spindles. Included are before, during and after photos of the project.

This laundry needed a makeover as well as an expansion. We took unused dining space from the kitchen and added it to what was an undersized laundry room for the size of the house. By adding square footage back into the laundry, we were able to not only provide extra storage for our clients, but an additional area to prep for when guests come and visit. To top it all off, we added beautiful stained french glass doors with gold/crystal knobs to create privacy between the laundry room and invited guests.

This master bathroom was expanded into a dressing room that was unused space for this family. This allowed for the addition of a larger double sink vanity and linen closet in Fabuwood Galaxy Indigo. The vanity is topped off with a Calcutta Enora Quartz countertop and matte black fixture accents throughout. The shower was also enlarged and finished with an embossed BCI Acrylic surround. Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention the beautiful detail in the new Decora Vetrate floor tiles.

Kitchen is Center In our design to combine the apartments, we centered the kitchen - making it a dividing line between private and public space; vastly expanding the storage and work surface area. We discovered an existing unused roof penetration to run a duct to vent out a powerful kitchen hood. The original bathroom skylight now illuminates the central kitchen space. Without changing the standard skylight size, we gave it architectural scale by carving out the ceiling to maximize daylight. Light now dances off the vaulted, sculptural angles of the ceiling to bathe the entire space in natural light.

THE SETUP Imagine how thrilled Diana was when she was approached about designing a kitchen for a client who is an avid traveler and Francophile. ‘French-country’ is a very specific category of traditional design that combines French provincial elegance with rustic comforts. The look draws on soothing hues, antique accents and a wonderful fusion of polished and relic’d finishes. Her client wanted to feel like she was in the south of France every time she walked into her kitchen. She wanted real honed marble counters, vintage finishes and authentic heavy stone walls like you’d find in a 400-year old château in Les Baux-de-Provence. Diana’s mission: capture the client’s vision, design it and utilize Drury Design’s sourcing and building expertise to bring it to life. It wasn’t my style… I didn’t have my stamp on it.” And now? “I love the fact that my family can come in here, wrap their arms around it and feel comfortable,” she said. “It’s like a big hug.”

Inspiration for a backyard stone patio remodel in Los Angeles with a fire pit

A bright, modern, and fully functional ADU designed to maximize every square foot. This project features an open living space, full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, bathroom, in-unit stacked washer and dryer, mini-split heating and cooling, durable wood-look flooring, and plenty of natural light. A great example of how unused backyard space can be transformed into a comfortable, independent living space—perfect for family, guests, or rental income.

We turned this drab unusable basement space into an oasis fit for the in-laws. We underpinned this space and created a one bedroom, one bathroom apartment with a bright living space, a fully functioning kitchen and it's own separate entrance.

After sitting on the market for three years, this property was purchased by a visionary client who understood that the right landscape designer could turn the unusable landscape into highly comfortable outdoor spaces. db Landscaping LLC designed a series of tiered outdoor living spaces, gardens, and access to the lake that responded to the steep lakeshore terrain of the property. Larger areas for entertaining were complimented by smaller, more intimate spaces for relaxing. The new landscape incorporated lake views and water access while utilizing environmentally responsible materials such as aged local stone and drought tolerant native plants. Storm-water runoff was also engineered to mitigate erosion and allow water to return to the ground rather than entering the lake directly. The resulting outdoor rooms and gardens were balanced, relaxing, and in harmony with the surrounding landscape.

This 1950's ranch had a huge basement footprint that was unused as living space. With the walkout double door and plenty of southern exposure light, it made a perfect guest bedroom, living room, full bathroom, utility and laundry room, and plenty of closet storage, and effectively doubled the square footage of the home. The bathroom is designed with a curbless shower, allowing for wheelchair accessibility, and incorporates mosaic glass and modern tile. The living room incorporates a computer controlled low-energy LED accent lighting system hidden in recessed light coves in the utility chases.

Vertical storage, with floor-to-ceiling shelves and cabinets, captures high, unused space to store seldom-used items like small appliances bulk items, seasonal cookware, paper goods and more.

This remodel project consisted of the primary (master) bathroom, bedroom, closet, hall bathroom, and laundry room. In the primary bathroom, we removed the walk-in shower, which felt cave-like, to add much-needed closet space. The unused jetted bath was then replaced with a zero-entry spa shower. Honed Grecian marble covers the floors and shower for a casually elevated sanctuary. In addition, the quiet texture of the shiplap balances the shower. To finish, a tranquil color pallet was chosen to sweep throughout the space, accented with matte black fixtures.
