Linen upholstered wingback chairs flank the fireplace in this formal living room. The space is made more intimate by seating arranged around a round cocktail table. Shades of gray, cream and white are accented with vintage green pottery.

Until the owners are ready to redesign the fireplace, we simply added paint to the existing mantel surround. We will likely take the redesign all the way to the ceiling and choose cut stone based in gray. The mantel will flow with the new shelving around the TV. The TV floats on the wall surrounded by custom, rough hewn floating shelves. The baskets below will be replaced by an upholstered storage bench that can be pulled into the room for added seating if necessary.

Client Goal: To create a comfortable retreat. Previously unused, this section of the house was given new life as a cozy conversation area. To encourage frequent visits, the area is set with two chairs, one for each client, sharing an ottoman. The abstract painting creates an artful and playful atmosphere. A place to come after work to unwind, converse about the day, and relax with a good book.

This Raleigh basement theater has two risers for 6 red leather theater recliners. The entry doors are also upholstered inside and out with matching leather. Audio and video equipment include DirecTV satellite system, Sony Blu-ray player, AppleTV, and Tivo with Time Warner Cable cablecard. The Screen is a Dragonfly acoustically transparent with Definitive Technology LCR speakers mounted behind it. The projector for this project is an Epson ProCinema. Substantial base is provided by four Sunfire subwoofers.
